Branden Mcrill of Five Out shared his thoughts on how AI can help streamline labor budgets, prep, and purchasing to eliminate operational bloat for restaurants. What’s more, brands like BJ’s are now forecasting how much business each of its 218 restaurants can expect from day to day. Their team adopted a new tool that analyzes data from 20+ sources, including weather reports to predict sales for each day two weeks in advance.?

Why it’s important? At scale, AI algorithms have the ability to give brands precise staffing and inventory management. As the tech evolves, it’s not hard to imagine brands streamlining food prep and shift assignments, leading to improvements in efficiency and guest satisfaction.

40% of respondents in Hospitality Technology’s annual report said the ability to use voice ordering is very or moderately important when choosing a restaurant (up from 27% LY).
