Airwallex Sails to New Zealand

Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!

Airwallex lands in New Zealand—because global expansion is great, but so is staying within a reasonable time zone. The company has officially announced its expansion into the Kiwi market, bringing its suite of financial products to local businesses.

Lowry Gladwell, a former Lightspeed Commerce and Xero executive, is the Associate Director of New Zealand and will oversee the launch and build a team of up to 10 people by year-end. Airwallex’s New Zealand rollout includes virtual and physical corporate cards, online payments, FX services, global accounts, and expanded support for startups.

“We understand that the key industries of growth in New Zealand include tourism, eCommerce, and tech,” said Gladwell. “Airwallex is already working with some of the country’s most well-established brands, including Rodd & Gunn, Tracksuit, and Auror. Our deep knowledge of these industries allows us to tailor our solutions to meet the unique needs of Kiwi businesses, helping them navigate global expansion with ease.”

With a focus on long-term investment, Airwallex aims to enhance financial services in a market eager for competition. “Our goal is simple. We’re here to provide New Zealand businesses with better experiences, lower fees, and faster payments in a market that’s crying out for competition. We’re excited for what’s ahead.” Gladwell concluded.
