Airports in the post-COVID. Sanitisation and control.

It is imperative and top priority to create a sanitised environment from "ground to air" it is the case to say, to give both employees and passengers confidence on a safe working environment and a safe travel. For that a good marketing communication campaign will aim at making sure that such efforts will be visible and socialised with the whole Airport community and travellers.

Air conditioning systems might need reviewed and with periodic sanitisation processes, Personal Safety Devices & Sanitisation kits (gel, tissues) will be available at terminal entrances, shops, walking paths, trolleys pickup and recollection bays.

New cleaning solutions, new procedures and new tools to be adopted by cleaning companies, same applies to Airlines for their aircrafts at every aircraft turnaround.

Technologies here come providing a big help, from steaming solutions to UV-C lighting, robotics solution which constantly and automatically disinfect any area.

Areas of particular attention would be all passengers touch points, from self service systems to shops, security screening, trays, trolleys, seating areas, lounges, etc.

Touchless Credit card payments to be incentivised to avoid as much as possible risky cash transactions.

Thermal Cameras solutions and video analytics to be widely adopted in key areas with integration with existing systems and processes are also to be adopted.

Time is of essence, leveraging as much as possible past investments, strong collaboration with existing tenants, cross-company teamwork and collaboration are key for success.
