Airbus refused to supply Qatar Airways with the fourth A350

The Qatar Airways airline and the Airbus concern continue to fiercely understand who and to what extent is to blame for the problems with the paint coating of the A350 aircraft delivered to Qatar.

Both sides will meet in a London court on Thursday, July 7, at the last of a series of procedural hearings ahead of the main trial, tentatively scheduled for June 2023. Various industry sources report that reconciliation of the parties is still unlikely.

On the sidelines of the recent IATA meeting in Doha, Airbus President Guillaume Faure said: "We are not only conducting a legal dispute, but we are also trying to find a solution ... Of course, I am upset by this situation. No one wants to be in this situation with their client. Therefore, we are trying to find a solution."

For its part, the European concern continues to add fuel to the fire of the conflict. It is reported that Airbus has canceled the contract for the delivery of the fourth A350 for the Middle Eastern carrier.

In May, the High Court of London ruled that Airbus will continue to deliver the A350s ordered by Qatar and demand payment from Qatar Airways, apply the provisions of the agreements on penalties and fines, and also try to sell the built planes to third parties if the airline refuses them.

Airbus is expected to cancel the contract for the delivery of the fifth A350 in July and the sixth aircraft later this year.
