At ICAO’s Unmanned Aviation Week (10-14 Sept. 2018) in Chengdu, China, Airbus unveiled their UTM Blueprint, what was presented as the underlying reality of a future with autonomous aircraft. It is a roadmap for collaboration and cooperation that puts safety on an equal footing with technological advancement. It supports policies and rulemaking that can regulate autonomous operations to ensure that air transport remains as safe tomorrow as it is today. And, it anticipates how an integrated airspace will impact everybody, developing fresh models of air traffic management that will enable new kinds of operations to flourish.
The UTM Blueprint was developed within the context of the Altiscope initiative by A^3, the innovation outpost in Silicon Valley, California, U.S.A. of Airbus LLC.
