AIRA Insights: 3 insights you must know to improve your job recruitment and job seeking in the Thailand Job market - March


Job seeking and recruitment is a challenging process that can take a toll on most people. Over 70% of jobs listed every month are looking for mid-senior level positions, yet majority of job seekers are entry level. This makes recruitment and job seeking a daunting task.

Here at AIRA, we have utilised AI technology to extract the latest key insights and trends in Thailand's job market monthly. All in a bid to optimise your job seeking and recruitment process.


Here are the top 3 insights we have gathered in March:


Technology & Software industry regains its prominence

Technology and Software is the trending industry this month, accounting for around 9.2% of all job listings in March.

January and February saw a bloom in the Tourism & Hospitality industry accounting for over 12% of all jobs listed. However this trend has been broken and now only accounts for 5% of all jobs listed.


AIRA Insights:

Technology & Software

  1. Top Job functions within Tech & Software fields are IT (30%) and Sales (12%).
  2. Only 15% of Tech & Software jobs are listed for entry level suggesting there is strong demand for skilled & experienced IT, sales employees.
  3. Tech & Software market is expected to expand with a CAGR (2024 - 2028) of 6.95% suggesting that the hiring demand is unlikely to slowdown.

Tourism & Hospitality

  1. Tourism & Hospitality industry seeing significant slowdown with no. of job listings dropping from 675 in February to 292 in March.
  2. Despite the slowdown, Tourism & Hospitality has the lowest barrier of entry, accounting for 10% of entry level job listings.



Sales, IT and Marketing are the most in-demand skillsets.

The top 3 job functions so far this year continues to be Sales, IT and Marketing.

IT functions most sought after in March, accounting for around 13.3% of all job listings across all industries. Closely followed by Sales at 13.1%.

AIRA Insights:

Sales

  1. Sales continues to dominate within the top 2 job function, for 3 months in a row.
  2. Over 50% of all industries and 17% of companies are actively hiring sales-related positions in March, making it the most versatile job function.
  3. Furthermore, Sales is also the job function with the lowest barrier of entry, accounting for over 12% of all entry level jobs.

IT

  1. IT is the 3rd most versatile function, but remains elusive for fresh graduates as 95% of jobs listed were seeking for mid level or higher employees.

Coinciding with the slowdown in the Tourism and Hospitality industry, Marriott has been overtaken by PERSOLKELLY HR as the top hiring company.

Marriott job listing in Feb: 244, job listings in Mar: 47, marking a 80% decrease.


Other notable HR recruitment firms among the top 20 hiring companies:

  1. PRTR Group?
  2. Adecco
  3. RGF HR Agent?
  4. Reeracoen Group
  5. Winged Recruitment
  6. Robert Walters


AIRA Insights:

  1. 11 of the Top 25 hiring companies are HR recruitment firm.
  2. Suggests difficulty and inefficiency in hiring & recruitment, leading to engagement of various HR recruitment firms.
  3. Over 22,000 new jobs were listed in January, this number dropped to around 6000 in March, signifying slowdown in hiring.
  4. Most companies align their fiscal year with calendar year, starting their hiring process in January and concluding by February. Explaining the steep decline in job listings in March.
