There has been a major call to arms today at the Association of Independent Festivals Congress in Bristol where the industry’s great and good were urged to get involved in the battle to stem the tide of festival closures. Among the initiatives presented were the Fallow Festival Fund. The result of a partnership between AIF and Citizen Ticket , the fund has been designed to support struggling festivals with a package designed to help them bounce back. AIF CEO John Rostron also used the platform to call for the UK’s Culture Media & Sport Select Committee to begin a State of Play inquiry into the future of UK festivals.

In other news, Coldplay have performed in front of the biggest stadium show audience of their career, in India, as part of what is proving to be the biggest rock tour of all time, and one that promises to provide unprecedented financially support to the grassroots music ecosystem.
