AIEA Joins U.S. for Success Coalition

Dear AIEA Members and Colleagues,

As we have just celebrated International Education Week here at home and abroad, I am delighted to announce that the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) has officially joined the U.S. for Success Coalition, a dynamic initiative committed to fostering global diversity and removing barriers for international student success in the United States.

The Coalition, with its seven interconnected goals, aims to provide a strong coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to diversify international students coming to the U.S., including countries and regions of origin, with an emphasis on those from the Global South, economically underrepresented students, and women. It also will work to strengthen coordination among professional associations, higher education institutions, businesses, and the global community.

As an organization dedicated to advancing international education and exchange, AIEA recognizes the importance of collaborative efforts in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for students from around the world. The U.S. for Success Coalition aligns with our values, emphasizing the significance of diversity in educational settings and the positive impact it brings on the global community.

To make this coalition a driving force for change, we understand that the commitment of all stakeholders is essential. AIEA will actively engage with member institutions, partner organizations, and government agencies to ensure a collective and sustained effort towards creating an environment where international students can thrive academically, culturally, and socially.

Crucially, the success of this coalition will require strong advocacy at the highest levels of government. AIEA is committed to leveraging its influence and expertise to engage with the U.S. Congress, advocating for policies that support international students and remove barriers to their success. By amplifying our collective voice, we can effect positive change and contribute to a welcoming and globally minded education landscape.

We invite all AIEA members and partners to actively participate in this endeavor. Your insights, experiences, and commitment are integral to the success of our shared mission. Together, we can shape policies that not only benefit international students but also enrich the educational experience for all.
