Can you tell us about you and your journey as an artist? How did you begin working with AI?

My journey has always been about pushing creative boundaries, whether in fashion or art. With roots in both art and science, I was drawn to the idea of merging these fields early on. My entry into the world of AI art felt natural as it allowed me to explore the uncharted, and since then, I haven’t looked back. My recent win at AI Fashion Week Season 2, organized by Maison Meta, was a major milestone that solidified AI as central to my creative process.

What drew you to the intersection of technology and art?

I’ve always been fascinated by the fusion of worlds—whether it’s fashion and art, or technology and creativity. AI offered a completely new way of generating and exploring ideas, allowing me to delve into once-unimaginable concepts.

Who are your major artistic influences, both traditional and digital?

My influences are varied. Avant-garde fashion designers like Manish Arora have left a lasting impression on me, particularly after working with him at Paris Fashion Week. I also draw inspiration from Japanese artists, both contemporary and traditional, who are masters at blending the surreal with the real. Digital art pioneers who experiment with technology have also played a huge role in shaping my vision.

How has your cultural background or personal experiences shaped your work?

Growing up in a family with a deep appreciation for both art and science, I was always encouraged to explore the unconventional. My cultural roots, combined with my global outlook from living in Abu Dhabi, shape a lot of the eclectic and dreamlike elements you see in my work.

Can you describe a turning point in your career where AI became central to your art?

A pivotal moment was when I won AI Fashion Week Season 2, hosted by Maison Meta. That experience opened doors for me, showing me the full potential of AI in my artistic expression. It was then that I realized AI wasn’t just a tool—it was going to be integral to my future projects.

How do you integrate AI into your creative process from concept to completion?

AI is woven throughout my process. I use tools like MidJourney, ChatGPT, Bing Create, and Leonardo.ai to explore new ideas, experiment with styles, and refine the aesthetics of each piece. The AI often surprises me with unexpected outcomes, which I then build upon with my vision.

What tools, techniques, or AI models do you use, and how do you select them?

I frequently use Midjourney , ChatGPT , Bing Create, and Leonardo.ai, among others. My selection depends on the project—whether I need detailed visuals, rapid ideation, or creative writing support. Each tool has its strengths, and I experiment until I find the right fit.

How much control do you delegate to the AI versus your input?

I like to give AI room to explore possibilities but maintain a hands-on approach in finalizing the work. It’s about keeping that raw, imperfect touch in the final output, something that AI alone cannot fully achieve without my direction.

Could you describe a typical day in your studio when working on an AI-driven project?

My day usually begins with collecting ideas and references, then I dive into AI tools to generate concepts. I refine those concepts, layering in my artistic touch. It’s an iterative process of blending AI’s capabilities with my artistic instincts.

How do you overcome creative blocks when working with AI?

AI itself helps me overcome blocks. When I’m stuck, I let the AI generate multiple variations or prompts, and somewhere in the randomness, a fresh idea emerges. The unpredictability of the outputs often sparks new creative directions.

What key themes or ideas do you explore in your AI-generated art?

My work draws heavily from fantasy, sci-fi, and dreamlike concepts. I love maximalism—bold, intricate designs, and the blending of various genres. I prefer a raw, unfinished aesthetic rather than overly polished work, which adds a layer of authenticity and imperfection to the pieces.

Are there any societal, ethical, or philosophical questions that your work addresses?

While my work doesn’t directly focus on societal or ethical questions, it often evokes themes of escapism, the merging of realities, and the exploration of alternate worlds. It opens up conversations about the future, and how we perceive and interact with the world through different lenses—be it technology or imagination.

How do you incorporate emotions or abstract concepts into your AI pieces?

I focus on balancing the fantastical with emotion. Even in the most surreal of settings, there’s a rawness to the characters and elements I include. It’s important that my pieces provoke a sense of wonder or curiosity, while still feeling grounded in something relatable.

How has the public and critics’ reception of your work evolved with the use of AI?

The response has been growingly positive. Initially, people were skeptical of AI’s role in art, but as they saw the depth and emotion that AI can help bring to the work, they became more intrigued and appreciative. My win at AI Fashion Week was a huge turning point in gaining critical recognition.

What is the most memorable reaction you’ve received to one of your AI-generated pieces?

One reaction that stands out was during AI Fashion Week when someone described my work as "a vivid dream you don’t want to wake up from." That encapsulated exactly what I aim for—blurring the line between reality and imagination.

How do you engage with audiences who may be unfamiliar with AI art?

I try to simplify the process for them, explaining how AI is a tool that enhances rather than replaces creativity. I make it a point to focus on the emotional and conceptual layers of the work, so the audience connects with the art on a deeper level.

How do you see AI shaping the future of art and creativity?

AI will continue to push boundaries, allowing for even more experimental and complex creations. Artists will be able to explore previously unimaginable ideas, combining different forms of media in ways we’ve never seen before.

Are there any specific advancements in AI you’re excited to explore in your future works?

Along with AI advancements, I’m particularly excited about exploring XR and VR. These technologies, when combined with AI, will create fully immersive artistic experiences that go beyond the visual, involving all senses in new and exciting ways.

How do you stay informed about AI developments and integrate new tools into your creative process?

I stay connected with the AI and digital art communities, keeping up with new tools and trends through forums, collaborations, and continuous learning. The landscape is always evolving, and it’s exciting to see where it’s headed.

What advice would you give to emerging artists who want to start working with AI?

My advice is to approach AI with an open mind. It’s a powerful tool, but it’s important to retain your artistic vision. Let AI guide and inspire, but always maintain that human touch. Keep experimenting, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and allow the rawness in your work to shine through.
