At AIB we see success!
Arizona Industries for the Blind (AIB) accomplishments in their first year as a private social enterprise organization include:
- Team members at the Base Supply Center (BSC) located on the Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson received the National Industries for the Blind (NIB) BSC Excellence Award which recognized AIB as the “best BSC in the country.”
- AIB Distribution Services Unit received a rating of “excellent” in all categories from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Contractor Performance Assessment Report (CPAR) including; on-time delivery, inventory management and customer service. This demonstrates that AIB continues to exceed customer expectations.
- The BSC located on the Marine Corps. Air Station (MCAS) in Yuma has increased revenue through a unique collaboration with Grainger and the General Services Administration (GSA) which provides customers with a convenient way to acquire the products they need.
AIB was established in 1952, as a program within the State of Arizona, to provide training and employment opportunities for persons who are blind. On July 1, 2016, with the support of the National Industries for the Blind, AIB secured a sponsor for a bill to separate from the State. SB1411 was passed and, on July 1, 2017 AIB became a private non-proffit organization.
