10. Proofreading:?

  • Don’t forget to edit and proofread before sending it (remember it’s a machine, not a human ;)

?? Special advice for Julie, our researcher to fight against recruiters’ bias:?

  • Avoid certain personal information: Women are more inclined to be discriminated against in ways that can be described as intersectional, i.e. linked to criterias such as gender + age, gender + ethnicity, gender + attractiveness. Therefore, it's best to avoid these information and a picture in the resume.
  • Organise the order of information: Recruiters read the first few lines and if they don't like it or aren't interested, they might don't finish it, so put skills first to direct impact, then work experience then training.
  • Use assertive language: What can be a disadvantage for women, especially when they want to enter professions dominated by men like Tech, modesty. Women tend to minimize their achievements and not necessarily be self-confident in the way they talk. So use confident language to describe your skills, instead of "I've tried to", use "I think that", etc., "I've accomplished", "I've done that", etc. This applies not only to CVs but also to interviews.

When ready, create your profile on https://fr.50intech.com/talents and uploading your CV on the platform, recruiters like detailed resumes.

Remember, that on 50inTech, you can also be "approached" by recruiters from companies, so even if the job doesn't interest you, it's important to give reasons for your response, because you might like the next role.

We can’t wait to see you applying like crazy or getting directly in touch with recruiters!
