Hi everyone!
?
Welcome to another edition of your favourite AI Weekly Newsletter!
?
This week has been once more packed with announcements left, right and centre, so it may be a bit longer than usual because there’s a lot to cover.
?
Big moves from the biggest players and some interesting collabs in the AI and wearables space.
?
Here is what’s in store for you today:
?
OpenAI's ChatGPT is evolving into a multisensory chat experience, offering an enriched interactive experience. Imagine you're curious about a historical monument you just photographed. Now, you can simply upload the image and engage in a meaningful dialogue with ChatGPT about its significance.
?
Another significant feature is the reintroduction of internet access via Bing browser, so once again ChatGPT doesn’t have a data limit and can provide you with the latest and most up-to-date information.
?
But the innovation doesn't stop there. OpenAI has integrated advanced voice technology, allowing for near-human conversational experiences. Initially available to Plus and Enterprise users on both iOS and Android, these features have undergone rigorous testing to ensure they are both useful and secure against misuse. So big moves again from OpenAI!

Meta's Connect Quest 3 Developer Conference was a treasure trove of announcements that promises to reshape the AI and VR landscape. Here's a breakdown:
?
Quest 3 VR Headset
Meta introduced its Quest 3 VR headset, a mixed reality device priced at $499.99 and shipping on October 10th. This isn't just an upgrade; it's a leap towards a mixed reality future. For businesses, this could be a cost-effective way to adopt VR for training or customer engagement, revolutionizing traditional methods.
?
Meta AI: ChatGPT for Meta Apps
Meta is integrating an all-purpose AI assistant into its apps like Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. This could streamline customer service across multiple platforms, offering a unified approach to customer interactions.
?
AI-Generated Stickers and Tools
New generative AI tools for image editing and sticker creation will be available across Meta's platforms. This opens up creative avenues for brand promotion, allowing you to engage audiences in a more personalized manner.

Emu: AI Image Generator
Meta's Emu aims to compete with DALL-E as an AI image generator. If you are a content creator, this could be a game-changing tool for generating visuals that resonate with your audience.
?
Public Figures AI Chatbots
They introduced 28 AI characters, each with unique interests and personalities (such as Snoop Dog or and Mr Beast), that you can now interact with. These AI characters are accessible through Meta's messaging platforms and have their social profiles on Facebook and Instagram. This is still in Beta for a limited number of users, so you may have to wait to have a chat with Snoop Dog.

Google is making significant strides in the realm of AI, with two major announcements. First, Google has unveiled a new tool called "Google-Extended" that empowers website publishers to decide whether their data is used to train Google's AI models while ensuring their content remains accessible through Google Search. In essence, you can now decide whether the content of your website can be used to train Google’s AI models.
?
Second, Google has announced the expansion of its Generative AI search experience (SGE) to teenagers aged 13-17 in the United States, providing them with a conversational mode for asking questions. To ensure the safety of teenage users, Google has implemented safeguards to prevent inappropriate or harmful content from surfacing, particularly content related to illegal substances or bullying.

Amazon is making a groundbreaking move by investing $4 billion in Anthropic, a leader in AI safety and reliability and developer of Claude, one of ChatGPT’s biggest competitor. This partnership aims to integrate Anthropic's secure AI models into Amazon Web Services (AWS), making them widely accessible to businesses.
The collaboration will also enhance Amazon Bedrock, a platform that allows for the customization of AI models to meet specific enterprise needs. Amazon's developers will leverage these models to innovate and improve customer experiences across their services. This is also at the back of another collaboration announced between Anthropic and Boston Consulting Group. Huge organisations coming together… watch this space!

Spotify is taking podcasting to the next level with its new AI-powered voice translation feature. In partnership with OpenAI, Spotify will allow podcasters to translate their episodes into multiple languages using their own voice. This feature not only breaks down language barriers but also offers a more authentic listening experience. As podcasting becomes a global phenomenon, could this be the feature that sets Spotify apart from its competitors?
?
And that’s all for this week! Quite a long one but I think it’s really important to understand what’s happened this week as it has a huge impact on how the AI landscape is shaping up.
?
As per usual, I’d love to hear your thoughts so don’t be shy and leave them in the comments.
?
Have a great week ahead!
