The AI will and the way in Dubai

Now that I am heading back to California from Dubai, time to reflect.

The last couple of weeks have been the culmination of many months of deep engagement while assessing some of the most elite government agencies of the world in #Data and #AI. It has been an utmost pleasure working with the @Executive Council of the Dubai Government, leading their AI assessment expert team for the 2021 Cycle. They have one of the oldest and most well-crafted government excellence programs in the world, and the newest addition to that program is evaluating the maturity of AI & Data Science strategy, capabilities built, and outcomes, at the government entities in their highest, elite tier.

The government entities I have come to deep dive on are doubtlessly world leaders in much of the AI-relevant aspects of their core mandates. Furthermore, they are constantly expanding the frontiers of government service in their mindset, investments, organizational agility, and new AI products. Smart control centers, smart patrol cars, utility bill savers and water savers, autonomous shuttles, robots that protect worker health....the list is very long. Many of them started early to lay down the Data foundations that led to their impressive AI results by today. They have learned from their counterparts globally and infuse what they learned with excellence, becoming global benchmarks themselves.

It has been very rewarding to get a deep, long gaze under the hood. The world needs to know a lot more about what have they achieved in innovation and AI in a mere few years, persistently, smartly, and systematically, in a very service-oriented and customer-centric manner.

I am deeply impressed by their uncompromising drive for excellence. Governments worldwide should learn a lot from the Dubai elite agencies.

Where there's a will, there's a way.
