AI versus Interview nerves

AI versus Interview nerves

How many times have you been anxious before going to a job interview?

How many times have you wished you had prepared better the interview, after you completed it?

Does that resonate with you?

?

Well in the world of AI, you now have access to many AI interviewers online and I have done some market research to evaluate the top 13 most used SaaS for you.

For most of them, you enter your name, job title, your CV and the job description of the role you apply to. Some have video recording and some only audio or text recording.

I advise you to use the video recording ones to get feedback on your presentation.

Some of these platforms are more technical oriented.

?

Video recording SaaS:

GreetAi.co: ?It gives you feedback on your responses but also on your audio and body language.

Interviewspark.io: You record your responses via video interface for each question. Send the recording and get feedback. They also track your progress across multiple practices.

PerfectInterview.ai: Video interview. You get feedback on your answers and presentation. You can improve your verbal and non verbal skills.

InterviewIgniter.ai: Video interface. Provides feedback on your responses but also on your audio and body language. Well suited for senior executives roles.

?

Non video recording SaaS:

Interviewprep.ai : Voice interviews. The questions come one after the other. You decide when you want to stop the interview and you get a feedback at the end on how you have performed, overall with the strengths and weaknesses in relation to the job.

Mockinterviewer.ai: Voice interviews. Same as previously, except that you get a feedback for each response you gave as well as the best responses you could have given.

Interviewplus.ai: No voice interviews. Only written interview. You get a more detailed feedback. With some categories such as: clarity, accuracy, depth, structure, outcome focus, context and importance, communication, examples, to name a few. It is quite detailed. This one is mostly focussing on IT jobs.

https://uni.wizco.io/pages/meet-ava: Feedback to your written responses with some data on the company you plan to join.

Rightjoin.co: You answer the questions manually. You don’t get any feedback but an Ai answer that you can compare to your responses. They also have a library of existing roles you can access with pre-existing questions.

Interviewsby.ai: You respond to the questions either via audio or text. You get the AI feedback and a sample of how you could have answered better.

InterviewAI.io: Provides questions and gives you overall feedback and individual question feedback

?

These two SaaS work differently: you are interviewing with real people.

Pramp.com: more for technical roles. You are paired with an optimal peer and each of you interviews the other and give feedback on each other.

Interviewing.io: meant also for technical interviews. You will be interviewed by an expert in your field via a shared interface. No video. The calls are totally anonymous. This app is more geared for getting hired in Amazon, Google, Facebook and other top companies.

??Pros:

You get access to a plethora of customised questions, with feedback which allows you to improve your responses and build your confidence.

With some of these SaaS you get feedback on your presentation. Audio and body language.

For technical roles, they can be very useful as you will get multiple questions that you can really prepare well.

The prices are rather cheap and some offer free subscription with restricted access.

??Cons:

The format is artificial.

The characteristics that some interviewers would display such as:

Humour, sarcasm, suspicion, admiration, surprise, irritation, impatience, a ??catch-you out?? attitude, coldness, warmth, etc… will not be part of the process.

And in a real life interview they will be and will have an impact on how you perform.

In the SaaS where you hear the voice of the interviewer, it is rather automated and “cold”.

Some SaaS go deeper into each question according to your responses. Some don’t.

?

My conclusion:

Whilst I see some of these SaaS very useful, I highly recommend for those of you who have a real need to perfect your interviews to choose a coach, a mentor or a peer to do your mock-up interviewing, They will still have access to all the AI questions via ChatGPT or have experience in your field but they will make the whole experience more real for you.

Remember that what matters the most in an interview is your energy. The energy you exude is what makes half the decision for the non technical roles. The feedback on your energy and body language ( including tics or verbal patterns) will always be given in the most accurate way by a coach or a peer.

You can also access some LinkedIn groups or professional networks and in these executive peer groups, mock-up interviewing can be arranged. This can be useful for very specialised jobs.

?I offer private mock-up interviewing sessions.

Breaking News: I will launch very soon for some categories of roles in the Tech space and Financial Services space Zoom mock-up interviewing sessions. Some volunteers/ job seekers will go through a mock-up interview with me and will get my feedback as well as the feedback of the other participants willing to give feedback.

That will result in building your confidence the fastest possible way and seeing the do’s and don’ts in interviewing for your role, from different people's perspective. Stay tuned.

Interesting topic, Catherine Parson! AI-driven mock interviews can offer great convenience and detailed feedback, but some might still prefer the human touch for a more personalized experience. It’s all about finding the right balance that works for each individual’s needs and preferences.

I think it depends on the role being applied for - some are likely better suited to human interaction.
