? These 74 robotics companies are hiring

It’s tough out there — and yet, doing my semi-regular jobs post always gives me hope. Seems every time I post one of these, the number increases. At 74 companies, this is undoubtedly the largest list we’ve made, by a wide margin. That means more work for me in putting this post together, but if it helps a few folks find some work, it was definitely worth it.


? Meta trials its AI chatbot across WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger in India and Africa

Meta has confirmed to TechCrunch that it is testing Meta AI, its large language model-powered chatbot, with WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger users in India and parts of Africa. The move signals how Meta plans to tap massive user bases across its various apps to scale its AI offerings.


? OpenAI makes ChatGPT ‘more direct, less verbose’

ChatGPT, OpenAI’s viral AI-powered chatbot, just got a big upgrade.

OpenAI announced today that premium ChatGPT users — customers paying for ChatGPT Plus, Team or Enterprise — can now leverage an updated and enhanced version of GPT-4 Turbo, one of the models that powers the conversational ChatGPT experience.


? UK’s antitrust enforcer sounds the alarm over Big Tech’s grip on GenAI

The U.K.’s competition watchdog, Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has sounded a warning over Big Tech’s entrenching grip on the advanced AI market, with CEO Sarah Cardell?expressing?“real concerns” over how the sector is developing.


? Humane’s $699 Ai Pin is now available

Humane today announced the availability of its first product, the Ai Pin.?The Bay Area-based hardware startup?has been kicking around since 2017, a year after co-founders Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhri left Apple. Since then, the company has been well-funded, to the tune of $230 million, and focused on building stand-alone AI devices.


? European car manufacturer will pilot Sanctuary AI’s humanoid robot

Sanctuary AI?announced that it will be delivering its humanoid robot to a Magna manufacturing facility. Based in Canada, with auto manufacturing facilities in Austria, Magna manufactures and assembles cars for a number of Europe’s top automakers, including Mercedes, Jaguar and BMW. As is often the nature of these deals, the parties have not disclosed how many of Sanctuary AI’s robots will be deployed.


? Google’s Gradient backs Patlytics to help companies protect their intellectual property

Patlytics, an AI-powered patent analytics platform, wants to help enterprises, IP professionals and law firms speed up their patent workflows, from?discovery, analytics, comparisons and prosecution to litigation.?
