AI, Uber’s Vision, and Solving Meaningful Problems
Hey LinkedIn,
It's been a minute, but I'm back sharing the latest and greatest that caught my eye in the world of Tech, UX and AI.
Talking of UX, I've recently joined the team at PensionBee UK to lead their UX team. Hope to share more about what we're doing here soon.
This week, I’m sharing a mix of insights on the evolving landscape of AI, leadership in tech, and product quality. From the impact of AI on business and society to the leadership lessons of Uber’s CEO, each of these stories brings a fresh perspective.
Let’s dive in!
As ever, thank you for your attention,
best, Ross
1. AI is the new plastic
In this thought-provoking article, Notion explores how artificial intelligence is becoming as ubiquitous and transformative as plastic was in the 20th century. It compares AI’s rapid integration into everyday life with the way plastic reshaped industries. But just like plastic, AI comes with its own set of challenges and responsibilities.
2. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi | 5 Questions
In an interview with the Financial Times, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi reflects on Uber’s growth, his plans for profitability, and the challenge of competing with tech giants like Amazon. In this episode of “Conversations on Quality,” Jeff discusses how focusing on the right problems can lead to better outcomes and innovations. He shares his approach to prioritising, as well as the importance of quality in product development—a must-listen for anyone looking to elevate their product strategy.
4. BrewDog annual report for 2023
Love the way James shares annual result - as a LinkedIn post. You can have all the decks and slides in the world, but having key bullet points in such an accessible way
5. The Tesla Robotaxi is Confusing...
I like how Marques reviews the 'We, Robot' event on the 9th. It was confusing. Yes, Tesla events are pretty awkward to start with, but if you look at the essence of what was shared - it really has a vision setting event, which would've been fine if this was the first time they were shared.
I can see why investors moved with their feet, which I also feel, was the opposite of what the show was all about. Elon's estimates are further than optimistic.
Entertaining nonetheless. It's great to have vision, but quite quickly, people want to know WHEN they'll get it.
Thank you for reading! Let me know your thoughts on these stories, and feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss how these insights might shape your business.
Best,
Ross

4 个月I've been a huge fan of Brewdog for years. (No, I don't have a drinking problem) but I like the transparancy from top down!
