AI TURNING MANUFACTURING UPSIDE DOWN AND INTO A CIRCULAR FAILURE

AI in manufacturing is a game changer. It has the ability to transfer information and data in milliseconds.

It also has the ability make changes that are beneficial to the end product, provide mechanical and programming solutions in the same time frame.

Flexible manufacturing is a great asset but antiquated by the speed of AI.

It is amazing how many prototypes are being produced that have the potential to change the way we transport materials, people and product. How quickly the product can be distributed and who it is made accessible to.

This will not go without challenges that will turn manufacturing upside down.

The mechanical and build phase of equipment and tooling will never be able to keep up with speed of warranted changes to product and process.

We are seeing it in the indecision phase of the automotive industry.

Auomotive manufacturing is suffering from indecisiveness. It can't decide who it wants to market to. Be by state, continent, class, style preference or efficiency.

Fossil fuel, electric, hydrogen, or hybrid buyers.

If they want speed or efficiency, load capacity or towing.

Luxury or off-road performance.

Autonomous or conventional driver preference or a combination of both.

Small vehicle, standard size or mini's, commercial or personal use.

One thing for sure they all want to be first and they all want to develop the technologies so they can control market share.

Whether the juice is in the global green movement or conventional supply and demand.

If they want to follow the board members or government and non-government directives.

The indecisiveness has contaminated the market, confused the consumer, and reduced the number of consumers by job loss and capital investment in automation and artificial intelligence.

All of manufacturing is falling into the trap of adapting manufacturing at the speed of AI.

Turning the prototype into the focus. Hoping that whatever comes next is the GOOSE that lays the GOLDEN EGG.

Capital equipment and facilities will become salvage yards before they are completed.

The cost saves accomplished in waste reduction will be lost to a race to invest in the latest innovation, materials, and AI dictated social solution.

Evaluating what has been missed and what we should have done.

In all areas, Automotive, Agriculture, Construction, materials, fabrication, robotics, data transfer.

We are turning the world upside down at a pace that will be impossible to recover.

Thank you so much for your perspective in this write-up, Guy! With so many new challenges, manufacturers are going to need engineers familiar with AI to address their implementation strategies. The real value is going to come from the strategic implementation of technology just as much as the tech itself.

Ultimately, it’s only as smart as the programmer.
