AI Tech: NVIDIA AI Playground
The article I am going to share today has the potential to be a series of it's own (and it might be so). So if anything, all of you are getting 7+ days of content in a single day.
Have you ever wanted to try using the latest AI inventions but just didn't have the tech skills or resources to do so? NVIDIA has got you covered.
NVIDIA AI Playground is a Cloud-based service from NVIDIA that allows one to try out the latest developments in AI from the comfort of their home. Let's take a brief look at some of it's most popular models:
Anyone who has extensive experience with AI Image Generation will have heard about Stable Diffusion. The only Open-Source AI Image Generator that comes close to Midjourney.
AI Playground provides you the freedom to test and play around with this model.
A little bit on how Image Generators work: The most common image generation technique is denoising. You have a dataset of images related to a specific topic that the user has inputted. Now, the model aims to go from a white screen (The screen we used to see back in the day when the cable didn't work) which is basically the screen of noise and pixel by pixel tries to reach the average of the whole dataset. Stable Diffusion is a little different in the sense that it works with compressed low dimensional latent representation algorithm instead. Here is a great video explaining AI Image Generation in depth.
According to their paper, stable diffusion XL builds upon the already amazing technology of autoencoding and image overlapping with features such as data loading and a shift from LDM paradigm to UNet modelling.
The state-of-the art of Open Source LLMs, Mixtral's successor to the 8x7b is available on NVIDIA AI Playground to test right now. I think most of us are now aware on how LLMs work so I will not discuss deeply into that topic. The 8x22b model is great for creating custom LLM bots for low/no cost.
Edify 3D (Early Access)
This AI Model deserves an article in and of itself if it achieves its said goal. The Edify's model aims to take existing Image Processing from the realm of 2D to 3D. Though the current technology is in it's early phases, it seems promising.
Apart from the ones I have highlighted, NVIDIA also provides specialized AI models related Biology (DNA modulation, protein backbones etc), Vision, etc. that are also available to use. So what are you waiting for, give NVIDIA AI Playground a try today!
