The ChatGPT and AI tool storm is creating different waves of emotions and excitement across the globe. An increasing number of people are trying their hands on these AI tools and getting impressed and blown away by the capabilities these tools are depicting.
One common question everyone silently asking to self is "Will it take my job away?"
Well, the answer is no, not yet! It is possible that AI could automate some tasks in your job, leading to changes in the job market and possibly some job displacement. However, the impact of AI on the job market is complex and not fully predictable.
Here is what AI can currently do:
Automate Tasks and Routine Work
AI technology is currently best at automating routine and repetitive tasks, such as data entry or sorting, which can free up workers to focus on higher-level tasks that require creativity, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Therefore, AI can potentially enhance your job by taking over menial tasks and allowing you to focus on more valuable aspects of your work.
Augment and Improve Service / Productivity
In some industries, AI is already being used to augment human capabilities rather than replace them. For example, in healthcare, AI is used to help doctors diagnose illnesses and create treatment plans, but it is not meant to replace doctors. In other industries, such as manufacturing, AI has led to job displacement in some areas.
