Is AI superhero going to solve everything for you?
Do you like a superhero? In my childhood, I sure did. Superman to be specific. I loved him. He is invincible. Moves fast, goes around the earth in seconds, stronger than steel. Any problem is no problem for him. He solves everything. He is a superhero after all.
As a child I wanted to be a superhero. Bullies will fear me, I can be anywhere in a second, I can solve all my life's problems. Except no one told me that the problems a superhero solves are not real-life problems. It took me a while to understand it when I was growing up. Now I know for a fact that I don’t need to be a superhero to solve my life problems. I need to face them one by one, understand them, spend time with them, prioritise and solve them with whatever resources I have.?
Now, if you see most people are like me when I was a child. They want a single answer to all their problems. People want to believe that some cool technology will come to an age and solve all their problems. Like a superhero. A few years ago that superhero was Big Data, then Mobile apps.
Right now people think that AI is that superhero. AI will generate images, AI will drive cars, AI will write blogs, AI will do the surgery, this and that.

This is no different in hiring. People want AI to do everything that a recruiter does. Some of the problems in recruitment are so simple that it is almost boring. But people do not want to do boring stuff, everyone wants to do cool stuff, make a dent in the universe. Now who will do that boring stuff? Boring but important, boring but essential.?
At Tacitbase, we believe that humans are important in recruitment. Humans need to talk to humans while hiring. Recruiters need simple and robust tools to be the best at what they do. They can automate boring tasks. They can improve their speed. Using tools they can become the best recruiter. AI can definitely play the role of assistant. We look at it as an assistant and not as a replacement.?
Also, AI is not going to solve all your problems - bad culture, bad processes. You need to have good principles and guidelines in place to be good at what you do. AI is a tool. Let us not fear it. Let us embrace it as a tool and make a difference.?
