AI and the Social Security Breach SSB

This technology advancement could put the cyber security in an awkward situation:

CCTV industry could face end of purpose: with this image processing technology (you may like to call it “image manipulation” as well) the CCTV feed can be altered and what once called bullet proof evidences are now nothing but distractions. The law enforcement officers will have a different level of challenges and new Cybersecurity AI department must be created and maintained within the police – I know very few places where that actually exist.

Identity and multi-factor authentication: Facial and voice recognition systems can be manipulated. Passwords could be easily acquired with AI powered social engineering. For instance you may receive a call from your boss (your boss voice or may be video call ) asking for some information,  video/audio call from you bank agent working with you to reset your password, or from a family member.. etc..

Many other cyber security technologies will face the same challenges and this will cause a:

Social Security Breach or (SSB): well-crafted AI-faked news could destabilize the social fabric of a nation or a community and could create economical shock waves. The social media today has considerable influence power that may be used for good and of course in this context for worse.

SSB has more dangerous impact on the long run when people will start to lose confidence in what they see and hear that includes even weather forecasts, market research, press interviews etc..

In my humble opinion:

In every cyber-security solution, there must be A trusted reference point (TRP) to start with; with this in mind finding a TRP is going to be harder and harder over time and will lead to more centralized control and finding, designing, implementing and evaluating those TRP will be next leap in cyber security
