Like it or not, there's a new 'arms race' about town - and for the first time in human history, we're dealing with Alien-Intelligence The speculative roadmap from 2024 to 2030 offers a glimpse into how AI might drive economic, social, and ethical shifts on a global scale. Drawing on ideas from my book, Genesis: Human Experience in the Age of AI, we’ll explore not only the technological advancements but also the profound implications for Human Experience (HX), a concept that integrates Customer Experience (CX) and Employee Experience (EX).

The year 2024 is set to be a milestone for AI with the release of powerful models like GPT-5, Claude 4, and Llama 4. These advancements will drive productivity and innovation across multiple sectors. However, as outlined in Genesis, the true measure of success for these technologies will be their impact on HX—how they enhance or detract from the human experience in both consumer and workplace contexts.

As these new AI models become more efficient and cost-effective, businesses will be able to offer more personalized and responsive customer experiences, a key component of CX. At the same time, AI-driven tools will support employees in their roles, potentially improving job satisfaction and productivity, thereby enhancing EX. The integration of these experiences into a cohesive HX will be crucial for businesses looking to differentiate themselves in an increasingly AI-driven market.

2025: Benchmark Mastery

By 2025, the focus will shift to mastering the integration of these AI models into everyday business practices. Genesis highlights that businesses that can effectively harness AI to improve both CX and EX will gain a competitive edge. This requires not just adopting the latest technology but also rethinking how we approach the human experience in a digital age.

As AI models like GPT-5, Claude 4, and Llama 4 become integral to business operations, companies will need to invest in upskilling their workforce to keep pace with technological changes. This aligns with the EX component of HX—ensuring that employees feel empowered and capable in their roles as they navigate new AI tools. A quick note to add - my view is that we will achieve AGI with Agentic Workflows (not a single monolithic, general purpose model). AGI’s ability to understand, learn, and perform a broad range of tasks, much like a human, could revolutionize both CX and EX. In the realm of CX, AGI could enable hyper-personalization, offering customers products and services tailored to their unique preferences in real-time. On the EX front, AGI could support employees in more meaningful ways, taking on repetitive tasks and allowing them to focus on creative, strategic, and human-centric work.

However, the integration of AGI will also raise significant ethical concerns, particularly around job displacement and the potential erosion of human agency. Genesis argues that as we approach this future, it will be crucial to maintain a balance between technological advancement and the preservation of the human experience. This will involve rethinking our economic and social systems to ensure that the benefits of AGI are broadly shared.

2028: The Election Year of AI

As we move into 2028, AI’s influence on global politics and economics will be undeniable. In Genesis, it is noted that AI will become a central issue in political debates, particularly around the topics of job protection, AI safety, and Universal Basic Income (UBI).
