Apple Will Include ChatGPT As An Opt-In Feature In iOS 18

According to Bloomberg, Apple . is rumored to be considering adding OpenAI's ChatGPT as an optional feature in iOS 18. At Monday's WWDC developer event, Apple is expected to unveil the next major iOS version. In addition to ChatGPT, the upgrade boasts a plethora of AI-powered improvements to the search bar, emoji library, and integrated apps.

Supposedly, Apple toyed with Google LLC's Gemini chatbot before settling on ChatGPT, but in the end, they went with OpenAI due to its better language models and more attractive conditions. The next-gen LLM might be a part of the OpenAI model for iOS 18 if it's ready by September, but no one knows for sure.

Not only will iOS 18 supposedly include ChatGPT, but it will also have new machine learning features like the ability to make slideshows and emoticons with natural language, access Apple Music playlists built by AI, and use the search bar to accomplish tasks within apps. It is expected that these features would be provided as an opt-in.

Along with the release of iOS 18, Apple is allegedly developing two household robots that run on LLM. The first is an autonomous vehicle built to carry out household tasks, while the second is a tabletop robotic arm with an intelligent display. Reflecting Apple's growing aspirations in artificial intelligence, both initiatives are still in their early phases. (Source).

The Chinese AI Video Generator KLING: A Possible Alternative to OpenAI's Sora

The Chinese IT company Kuaishou has unveiled KLING, an advanced artificial intelligence model for creating videos. KLING aims to compete with OpenAI's Sora, which can produce two-minute films at 30 frames per second in 1080p HD. Reportedly, KLING's 3D space-time attention system allows it to physically represent complicated motion sequences, which could make it more accurate than OpenAI's "world simulator" method.

KLING is more than simply physically correct movements. In order to create new, completely fictitious scenes—like a cat driving a car—that weren't in its training data, it uses a "diffusion transformer" to merge ideas. With KLING's public demo now live in China, Kuaishou Technology is positioned as a formidable rival to other large-scale generative AI models. (Source). Checkout an animated Kling Video here

Humane Ai Pin: From Fashion Week to Fire Hazard

Remember the AI assistant pin from last year's Paris Fashion Week? The one promising to change tech interaction? Brace yourself - it's a cautionary tale.

Ambition to Ashes:

• Founded in 2018, Humane aimed for AI integration.
• By 2023, they secured $200 million to "bring AI everywhere."
• September 2023: The Ai Pin debuts at Paris Fashion Week.

Disaster Strikes:

• April 2024: Launched to scathing reviews.
• Orders tanked - they only reached 10% of their target.
• Desperate for an exit, they approached HP for a billion-dollar buy (rejected).
• June 2024: The final blow - a fire hazard forced a charging case recall.

The Lesson: AI Integration - Phones or Gadgets?

Humane's fall begs the question: How will AI change our devices? Phones? New gadgets? Or just app upgrades? We at Digital Storm predicted this. We said the Ai Pin felt unnecessary - these features belong on existing devices. And guess what? Apple's WWDC conference last Monday might be the answer. Rumors point to a major AI upgrade for iOS, possibly with OpenAI for a Siri overhaul. Innovation is exciting, but execution matters.
