Ericsson, Nokia secure 5G contracts with Viettel in Vietnam
Viettel has announced separate 5G deals with Nordic vendors Nokia and Ericsson. Its work with the former marks the first time that Nokia's 5G AirScale portfolio will be used in Vietnam, while Viettel said Ericsson will support its 5G deployments in the capital Hanoi and the north and central parts of the country.

Global 5G connections exceeds 2 billion at end-Q2
The report from Omdia and 5G Americas also predicted that global 5G connections will reach 8.6 billion by 2029 and that 5G will account for 59% of global access networks by 2029.
