AI Represents the Greatest Individual Opportunity in the History of Mankind.

It seems like an eternity ago when I first encountered ChatGPT. The app had only been live for a few weeks, and back then, their servers were so overloaded that you had to repeatedly try to log in, only to be told to try again later. (Ironically, I encountered the same problem last night trying to access their new GPT Chat creation tool.)
Why this article matters...
Never in the history of humans on this planet has their been a greater opportunity for literally anyone to become successful with no restrictions or competition to entry. This window will rapidly close over the coming year but dedicating yourself now to becoming an expert in AI technology will give you a head start that will change your life.
Back in the early days of the AI wave, it took me about half an hour to realize that the greatest opportunity of a generation was at hand, bigger than the internet itself, which has made untold fortunes for millions of people and redefined how our society and world operate.
As an early adopter of technology, I am akin to a great-great-grandfather. My first computer was an Atari 8k that plugged into my television. When the internet arrived in the late '90s, I was an original Hotmail subscriber. By 1998, I had bought myself a new computer with a loan from the Bank of Mom and taught myself HTML.
I remember asking myself, "In ten years, what will I wish I had been part of?" The obvious answer was the internet.
Within a few months, I had figured out how to hack the algorithm of the top search engine of the time, AltaVista, and built a site on the Kosovo conflict that was attracting 50,000 users a day. By 2006, I had built a software company and a media publishing company that was generating several million dollars a year in profit.
But I digress.
When I first discovered ChatGPT, I once again had that 'aha' moment where all the stars aligned, and I saw the mind-blowing potential of being part of this AI era. Having recently gone through a serious cancer scare, my greatest fear was dying at the doorstep of the greatest shift in technology in the history of mankind - and missing the opportunity to capitalize on it as a lifelong entrepreneur.
When I created my new project, Toolscape, its premise was to be a directory of all the rapidly emerging tools and make some sense of what to do with them.

However, as the project started to take shape, I decided to take a different direction. There are already numerous sites trying to catalog the tools - and honestly, how many more content writing apps does the world need?
What is needed, though, is clear and logical discussion and interpretation of how AI will impact our everyday lives. For example, something I plan to focus on in the coming months is the opportunity for individuals and companies to become leaders in assisting others with implementing AI into their world.
For instance, I have a friend who owns a successful flooring company with a growing online presence, an import division, and a couple of retail stores. Let's say he sees the potential of embracing AI for his business after doing initial research. He doesn't yet know how or what he wants to achieve but sees the technology as something that will help him take a major step forward in the marketplace and significantly impact his bottom line.
Like many business owners, this is essentially where they hit a wall. The real issue is, even if they want to embrace AI, where do they start? With the industry being literally less than a year old, there are no experts or even legitimately proven people with more than opinions on the subject - at least at the level of general business operations. Anyone considered an expert in the AI field is likely involved with much larger projects and companies than a small flooring company on the Canadian prairies.
The whole point is there isn't any obvious path between where a company is today and how to get to a point where AI makes an actual difference to their operation - let alone finding anyone who can get them there.
And in this lies the first astonishing opportunity for would-be entrepreneurs and anyone looking to position themselves in the field of AI. Initially, terms like prompt engineering were tossed out, as it seemed clear that to maximize the results of apps like ChatGPT, you needed to know how to ask for the right answer.
But for real-world companies (which should be viewed as real-world opportunities), wanting ChatGPT to provide them the answer is pointless. What they are really asking is how AI can make their business more successful.
And to be honest, no one at this point really knows the answer to that. Not me, not Elon Musk, nor Bill Gates. Yes there are the fragmented pieces of how things can work - chat bot assistants to help with customer service - rapid development of ecommerce strategy - advanced marketing data analysis and recommendations - but even if a company wanted to add this to their company's philosophy - who is going to do it never mind who is actually even qualified to do it.
And within that statement lies the opportunity you have before you as you read this. It's a wide-open market - there are no competitors, no rivals - just a wide-open, once-in-a-lifetime chance to position yourself as an expert in a field that desperately needs you.
The game is afoot, my friend. What are you going to do about it?
