She suggests four tips from her learning journey on how to ride the AI wave in your career:

??? Build the right foundation. Stay on top of updates by keeping track of new knowledge and information around you that helps you do better at your job.?

??? Stay curious. The spirit of lifelong learning is crucial in today’s constantly changing world. To adapt to future jobs and opportunities, be open to upskilling and look out for windows of opportunities to do so.

??? Be bold and creative. The best way to get ahead in the age of AI is to apply it to your work. Don't be afraid to experiment with AI and find new ways to use it to solve problems.

?? Leverage the strength of humans. Creativity, empathy and critical thinking are important skills in any job. While you look to AI to support you and reduce time on tedious tasks, find your focus in more high value work.?

Mindset shift

She suggests 4 mindset shifts that could help you mark yourself safe in the age of AI:

?? It’s not a competition between machines/technologies and humans.?

?? You’re never too old (or young) and it’s never too late to learn new things.

?? There are multiple ways to achieve a goal or to do a job.

?? Achieving efficiency can pave the way to innovation, more time (for work or even rest).

Heart or robot?

ChatGPT or any AI will be as powerful or limited depending on what we prompt it with. It will tell the most wonderful sounding lies if we ask it to. It will also help us tremendously in improving what we already know and perhaps can’t put into words as quickly,” believes Pang Kay , board member and legal advisor at Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) .

She quotes Fei-fei Li: “There is nothing artificial about AI. AI is made by humans, intended to behave by humans, and, ultimately, to impact humans’ lives and human society.”?

Career coach Yoke Leng Leong agrees. She says, “Nothing can replace the assurance of an expert’s advice. You can ask AI repeatedly and yet not receive the assurance that you can only get from a human mentor or consultant who can pinpoint exactly what's wrong with your business strategy.”?

In my opinion, every job will be affected by AI sooner or later, to a greater or lesser degree. Furthermore, I believe some jobs will be replaced by AI. The key here is to recognize your unique value that AI cannot replicate. What AI can do, you can delegate to AI. You can coexist with AI and shift to more valuable work. Instead of fearing AI and being pessimistic about the future, I have two suggestions. 1. Use AI anyway to get to know it better and try to utilize AI in your current job. 2. See what aspects of your job are likely to be replaced by AI and what cannot be replaced. AI shouldn't be able to replace everything. In my case as a Japanese language teacher, pronunciation correction, for example, is an area where AI excels. On the other hand, learners often want more than just linguistic knowledge and skills. In order to communicate smoothly with Japanese people, understanding of Japanese culture may be necessary. But teaching based on the linkage between language and culture is something AI cannot do at present. Let's entrust AI with what it excels at and focus on your own value. #GetHiredAsia

In my opinion, as a Blogpost writer, I had my doubts at first about AI. Why? Well, because AI can write better than humans. It might replace us but the thing is, humans created AI. ?? So instead of thinking that Artificial Intelligence is a job destroyer, I must leverage the necessary tools of AI to be more efficient, and productive, and to improve my writing skills. ???? As they say, "Nothing is permanent, except change." #GetHiredAsia

True progress is an organic thing like the growth of a tree.we must cut out the dead wood and cast away the withered post.we have changed so often in the past, further change does not disturb the spirit of the humanity.
