Hi! Thanks for being one of the 68k people who have subscribed to Landed since I launched less than a month ago, and double thank you to those of you who followed me over to the long-term home for my newsletter.

Why am I housing my newsletter elsewhere when I have so many subscribers here?

Because:

1. It has better functionality for me - I can work on things over many days, have more options for editing, etc. and I get way better analytics - I have no idea how many people are reading my newsletter on LinkedIn! And it allows people who aren't on LinkedIn to access my content.
2. They support running ads on newsletters - this is a way for me to earn money without ever charging you a dime. I spend 10+ hours a week creating content on a top of a full time job. I don't want to be one of those people who is constantly pushing people to pay for a call so this is a way for me to earn money without asking anything of y'all. I'm not ready to do this yet but when I am, I like the idea of a platform that does the work to make this happen.
3. It allows me to focus on my most engaged audience. I know lots of people click the follow/subscribe button on LinkedIn because it's easy, but that doesn't mean they want to read this content - and that's OK! So I figure it will help me direct my strongest content to those who are most engaged with me.
4. And the last thing is a lesson learned from TikTok - we don't own our audiences. If I get kicked off of LinkedIn tomorrow, I'd be starting all over on another platform. So having access to a platform that lets me connect directly with my audience is an advantage.
