AI in politics, how "Artifacts" change the AI game, and "go faceless". TGF 010

First off, this isn't a "political issue", although this issue (TFG 010) will have some commentary on how AI is impacting politics, where that's heading, and potentially how it can be used to UNIFY, HEAL, and help remove trust, emotion, corruption and some of 'the human error' from politics,. The actual "AI politics" however also do keep going further off the rails as Apple (who Bill Gates saved from bankruptcy in the 90s) gets an "observer" seat on OpenAI's board where 微软 (their "competitor") also has a board seat; meanwhile OpenAI is unseated by competitive LLM "Claude 3.5 Sonnet" by Anthropic (with artifacts ON - this is so important), the thunder from OpenAI's Sora text-to-video is dampened by Runway 's newly released Gen-3, 谷歌 search is further disrupted by advancements in Perplexity 's AI research engine, ElevenLabs (g-AI for voice), Suno (g-AI for music) and more keep releasing newer, better tech...
and IT. IS. GOOD.
So first, let's get "weirdly political", then let's dig into how Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet is an absolute GAME CHANGER, debrief on Runway Gen3, Suno, and more. Then we will get into some "building in public" stuff, some alpha (this is the "faceless" part, and not fully "alpha" as many have leveraged this for a while) and I'll sprinkle some L.O.V.E. in here as well. If these politics ahead upset you - please comment but also please keep it classy, cordial, and kind, or my team will delete you comments, which is counterproductive to why you wanted to leave it there in the first place.
To elucidate, I'm a registered independent, I vote policy and common sense with empathy and compassion, I've votes for candidates on all ("both") sides of the 'political divide', and truly am a patriot who holds both this nation (USA) and world (humanity) to be SACRED. I could debate, argue, theorize, strategize, and likely stoke flames on either side of the rift, but have zero interest in doing so. To that end, about a month ago I realized how different this election cycle is to any others in this nation's history, and fairly unprecedented in recorded history:
Virtually no Americans are pleased with either "choice", either candidate.
Albeit arbitrary, the US 'unspoken' age of retirement has long had precedent of being 65 - an age both US presidents have both enjoyed, many years ago. I stand firmly AGAINST ageism, both men men have had long, storied careers - one in the military and then politics, then other in business, both ascended to POTUS, and both can go down in history as controversial but "decent" one term presidents.
The recent "first" presidential debate further solidified my position. I spoke with many hundreds of Americans, and began our chat with same assertions I made above, and not a single person denied my allegation that NOBODY 'really' wants either candidate as a second term US president from 2024-2028. I'd recently seen Ukraine "elect an AI" to a government position with promising early results, saw a candidate in the UK running for parliament using AI, and postulated that if a CRUSTLESS and EMOTIONLESS ML model were trained one ethics, precedent, constitutional law, legal precedent, history, specific constituent-based policies and more, than an "AI-in-the-loop" could be exactly what this nation needs, ran as an independent, or other ("only") choice.
What happened next was incredible. U/HNWIs began inquiring about donating to my pre-campaign. Dozens of volunteers pledged their support, including legal scholars, PhDs, activists, celebrities and more to the proposed campaign. I found that there's still tie to get on the ballots, amassed all the requiem forms, and have at least partially contemplated a run. To that end, I've already been approached by an active campaign in the race, and anticipate talks with them this upcoming week.
All I can say is STAY TUNED, and God Bless America (Happy Independence Day to ALL worldwide, as all benefit from the "reason for the season") as well as humanity worldwide.
Before switching gears, here's an image I had ChatGPT generate showing my local neighborhood park, Humboldt Park, renamed Homeless Park is direct response to the recent population of tents and homeless exceeding a hundred there, with reports of crime, violence, illness, and unsafe conditions - many migrant or suffering from mental health issues. I do believe that there are empathetic, caring, forward thinking solutions to issues like homelessness, immigration, and mental health, but don't know that the current "solutions" will ever get us where we all need to be, together.

Now that we've got the "political weirdness" out of the way, let's move on to Claude, and what makes it notably awesome. Effectively, it's free, and powerful, but the way it's most differentiated and incredible is when you turn on "artifacts", which lets it open a local dev environment (effectively), write code and deploy it locally to a degree - although it says it "can't do that yet" - which is also telling. For those that know what this means, it's doing zero-shot FPS games and iconic games like Tetris, smart contracts, and even designing rudimentary PDF presentations. For any non-coder with an idea, product team needing more resources, and person who "gets" AI but has wanted it to be more productive and have better outputs, I cant recommend Claude with artifacts highly enough.
As far as Runway Gen-3, it's now available, and is good but not great (yet). Cherry-picked examples of Gen3 are great, as are Sora's, but as a user (which is a huge Runway advantage, as we still can't use Sora), but as a user, it's hard to get genuinely incredible outputs yet, and the tokens it takes to generate a 10-second image will make this product very expensive, possibly prohibitively so, for the time being. That said, it's quite great for text-to-video, whilst other free "image-to-video" generators may actually yield better video outputs, yet. That said, Runway wrote the paper on Large World Models and has a LOT more they're about to reveal, which will take Gen3 and other products they've built to the next level, particularly once the suite is publicly available.
In other AI news, Perplexity made some updates that make them the de facto "best AI search engine" and research tool; Eleven Labs now has famous celebrity voices (mostly deceased, blasts from the past, with authorization from the voice actors' estates etc), Suno has a mobile app - and if you haven't used them for their text/lyric/idea-to-music yet you're missing out! You the creator own the copyrights and can use the songs for entertainment, business, branding, birthdays, soundtracks and so much more.
Another powerful use case for g-AI that's generated many billions of dollars and created many millionaires are faceless YouTube channels (or other faceless channels like IG) and the platform most of the millions of follower accounts like the one I was partnered with for my previous weekly AI newsletter ("AI News") use is called invideo and they're now FREE to use (try) and can research, script, produce and direct original short videos from social media etc that are VERY good. In fact, it's almost inevitable that you've watched some faceless sm posts many times without even knowing it before. I absolutely am blown away by inVideo and what many are using their tech to effectuate.
I'd love to get into more "building in public" stuff but realize this is already a long issue, and hope that many of you are able to utilize some of the above alpha on Claude, Perplexity, inVideo and Suno to build cool stuff - please share in the comments below.
I'll close with some LOVE - I am cofounder in a project training computers, particularly AI models, what love is (and isn't) for the betterment of humanity, and through that project ("Loving Is") I was introduced to a cool project using web3/blockchain and data encryption to offer portable wifi routers/extenders/hotspots that are totally secure, sovereign*, and amazing! A team just biked across the USA using them in a annual race, and they won and won a Guinness World Record, citing these tools (L.O.V.E. pods) as a winning ingredient; they'll also be a sponsor of the upcoming 40th annual international Day of Peace and a core component of the tech stack - I will post an unboxing of the product and details on my LinkedIn account this week (https://linkedin.com/in/corywarfield) - this is a disruption so many of us need (no more dropped meetings or dead zones! And total sovereignty of our data - YES PLEASE).
