AI Opportunity or Threat?

AI Opportunity or Threat?

In the 1970s, the introduction of machines and robots into the workplace caused widespread concern among workers who feared losing their jobs. This led to strikes and protests, with many workers fearing their jobs would become obsolete. The paperless office was being discussed at the time, and the people who opposed this change were referred to as Neo-Luddites.

Despite these concerns, studies have shown that new technology has historically created more jobs than destroyed. In the case of the 70s, manual work and manual workflows were replaced by machines and robots, leading to mass unemployment. This was due to a lack of support from the government and a lack of investment in the education and training of the workforce.

Today, we are facing a similar situation with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI). Many people fear AI will replace their jobs and make their skills obsolete. However, just like the introduction of machines and robots in the 70s, AI has the potential to create more jobs than it destroys.

AI can make us more efficient and productive, saving time, money and materials. It can also help us become more sustainable. However, new technology will always be a downside, and some jobs will become obsolete or consolidated into other jobs. This is why governments need to support those who impact the changes brought about by AI.

In conclusion, AI has the potential to be a force for good for society. As with any new technology, those will always use it for bad. But just like the introduction of machines and robots in the 70s, AI has the potential to create more jobs than it destroys. To ensure that AI benefits society, we need to invest in the education and training of the workforce and provide support to those who impact the changes brought about by AI.

As a business consultant, I understand that with the advancement of AI, people may question if I will be replaced. The truth is, I don't fear AI. I see it in the same light as self-help business books that claim to make you an expert after reading just ten.

Books and chatGPT are just a glimpse into my world as a business consultant. There is no substitute for the experience and expertise I have gained in the commercial field. When I analyze a business, I combine my observations, insights, knowledge, and experience to provide tailored solutions that can lead to success.

I advise anyone seeking business guidance to use all available resources, including books and chatGPT. However, the final step should always be to speak with someone with hands-on experience in the field. Experience is what sets apart a business consultant from a chatGPT.

So, let's talk and see which type of advice provides the best solution for your business. My experience in commercial combat will give you a level of expertise that cannot be matched by technology alone.

In conclusion, I am confident that AI will not replace me as a business consultant. The human touch, combined with the knowledge and experience I have gained in the field, provides a level of service that cannot be replicated by technology.

ChatGPT can only regurgitate generalities and can't replicate human experience. Good luck to anyone who thinks that will add value to their business.
