AI for the new age

The ChatGpt tsunami has left us reeling and wondering what hit us (in a good way!). Not only mere mortals like us, but even the biggies like Google have brought out the big guns from retirement to take stock of the situation! Yes, you read that right Larry Page and Sergey Brin were summoned in a ‘red alert’ kind of situation at Google! From generating code, to writing funny copy, to drafting essays – ChatGpt does it all with ease in seconds. It’s pretty magical.

While most of the world is having quite some fun figuring out this magic tool, we thought we would put together a quick list on how to generate the best ChatGpt prompts.

Greetings Digital Marketers,

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Garbage in, garbage out"? Well, the same concept applies to ChatGpt prompts. If you give it poor quality prompts, you'll get poor quality responses. We are sure that ‘prompting’ is going to be a top skill that digital marketers will add to their repertoire. And that’s exactly where the ‘human’ element will come into play – how good you are at drafting your prompts! Here are 7 tips you need to keep in mind as you start your ChatGpt journey:

1.??????Keep it simple: As much as it would like us to believe it, ChatGpt is a language model, not a magic wand. The simpler and clearer your prompt, the more likely you'll get a response that matches your expectations.

2.??????Be specific: Be specific about what you want ChatGpt to generate. For example, instead of saying "write a blog post", try "write a 500-word blog post about the benefits of mindfulness". It’s important to define your task, goal and context.

3.??????Mind your tone: Once you have defined the above, get more specific. Do you want the tone to be witty, conversational, professional. For example: “Write a 500-word blog post on 5 trends in paid media marketing for digital marketers in a conversational tone."

4.??????Ask a question: ChatGpt works best when you ask it a question. Try asking it "What are the latest trends in digital marketing?" instead of "write a blog post about digital marketing".

5.??????Ask follow- up questions: To get more refined answers, ask follow up questions.

6.??????Check for sources: To add more value to your writing, you can use ChatGpt to quote the sources from where the response has been generated.

7.??????Don’t be shy to ask for alternatives to the recommendations provided.

While these are basic tips to get you started, you must know that the ChatGpt prompting game has already reached new heights! Last week, Rob Lennon created a mega prompt that used Alex Hormozi ’s framework!
