Generate the right framework
When using conversational AIs, like ChatGPT, it is vital to use the right prompts so that you will get the exact outcome you desire.
On this brief Twitter thread by BelajarLagi, they have summarized the main 3 prompt frameworks you need to know to master ChatGPT:
CARE (Context-Action-Result-Example)
- Start with giving context or purpose of finding the information you’re looking for. Ex: Our clothing line will launch a new product for the next campaign.
- Describe exactly what you need ChatGPT to do. Ex: Can you give ideas for a campaign related to end-of-year clearance sales?
- Write your desired outcome from the answer. Ex: Our goal is to drive product awareness and sales, especially among women.
- Include a specific example as reference. Ex: A good example of a similar successful initiative is Uniqlo’s “Peace for All: Happy Holiday for All” campaign.
RTF (Role-Task-Format)
- Create a worldview for ChatGPT by assigning a specific role to it. Ex: Imagine you are a content strategist, your job is to develop content that resonates with your audience.
- Give the role-assigned ChatGPT specific tasks it needs to get done. Ex: Your task is to amplify the company’s engagements with its audience on social media.
- Mention the deliverables and format it needs to provide to complete the tasks. Ex: Provide a plan and detailed strategy to optimize each content, including posting times, based on analytics and best practices.
BAB (Before-After-Bridge)
- Lay down the before or current situation you’re dealing with. Ex: We are nowhere to be seen on the SEO rankings.
- Write down where you want to be / the output you want to achieve. Ex: We want to be in the top 10 SEO ranking in our niche category within 90 days.
- Ask ChatGPT for method recommendations to solve your problem. Ex: Please develop a detailed plan which mentions all the measures we should take. Include also a list of the top 20 keywords.
Which framework to use will depend on your needs when using ChatGPT. The more specific you get, the better your outcome will be.

Delete from your habits
If you use AI tools on a daily basis, you’re probably using AI as a shortcut for some of your work’s steps. But, instead of making your tasks get done faster, sometimes you’re using it wrong and it’s taking too long to get to your desired outcome.
Stop wasting your time and avoid the following prompt errors for effective AI use:
- Using one-line prompts instead of templates. If you require very specific outputs consistently, develop your own reusable prompts by choosing a framework you need, using the text blaze extension, and then using the shortcut to prompt.
- Not iterating enough. On average, you will try a prompt for 3-5 times before settling on the output you prefer. By selecting the right words, you can steer the AI to search in the correct areas of the Cloud.
- Sticking to just one model. Have alternative AI models to test out your output. Certain tools that are fine-tuned for specific tasks will get you better results. An example is Perplexity for research tasks or Sudowrite for writing fiction.
- Lacking the right context. The more context you include, the more the AI will understand what output you are looking for. Your context can be examples of past writing, your target persona, or a product description.
- Confusing the AI with the wrong context. Be sure to start a new chat for each new task. Otherwise, the context from your previous outputs might carry over and muddle the results. Also, use “Edit” instead of continuing the conversation.
