AI in Marketing: will ChatGPT kill your SEO strategy?

AI chatbots took the world by storm at the end of 2022, and nothing has been the same ever since. Concerning businesses, the innovation was met with various reactions: curiosity, fear, enthusiasm, rejection. Some were eager to adopt it right from the start, while others still remain skeptical.
But what does the popularization of ChatGPT mean for marketing?
Of course, making any claims about how the development of artificial intelligence will affect businesses in general and marketing in particular at this point would be nothing but mere speculation. But one thing I can say for sure: big changes are inevitable.
So far, AI chatbots have mainly been used to speed up operational processes and improve the quality of marketing output. Most professionals use them to generate content, images, and aid in SEO initiatives.
However, while SEO managers ardently conduct keyword searches and craft content outlines through the chat, very few have considered the idea that the mere existence of OpenAI puts the SEO industry in danger. The same applies to Google Ads.
Just think about it – when the masses get used to the chat, and it becomes an integral part of everyday life, why would one bother going through an exhausting Google search and clicking from website to website when you can ask ChatGPT to do that for you?

Some food for thought here…
On the other hand, the aim of this article is not to demonize AI but to turn your attention to things you can actually control, such as your marketing strategy.
Personally, I am a firm believer that nothing indicates the quality of your marketing strategy better than its agility or rigidity.
Adaptability has always been the key to success; however, in today's fast-paced world, it is more important than ever. Many are convinced that they have flexible marketing strategies because they can easily integrate new tools into their operations.
Unfortunately, the process of adaptability is primarily about how you integrate into the new reality rather than how it fits into your strategy. The latter mindset is exactly the reason why so many marketing departments are forced to completely rewrite their marketing strategies every 1-3 years.
The level of adaptability, agility, and flexibility of your marketing strategies determines how relevant your business is in the context of today's world and ensures your relevance in the future. And, as I mentioned earlier, this process goes well beyond the usage of new technologies and embracing new trends. It is about seeing the bigger picture, noticing how the world changes, as well as industries and consumer behavior alongside it.
