AI Leading the Future — Huawei Cloud Empowers a New Chapter of Industry Intelligence

On September 19, 2024, HUAWEI CONNECT 2024 was held in Shanghai with the theme of "Amplify Intelligence". The expo brings together global thought leaders, business elites, technical experts, partners and developers to explore how to seize new opportunities to drive digital transformation in the industry.

In the [l1]?keynote speech, Huawei Cloud presented insights and implementations regarding intelligence, and elaborated on its All Intelligence strategy from seven aspects. In his keynote speech, Zhang Ping'an, Executive Director of the Board, Huawei and CEO of Huawei Cloud, emphasized the importance of "thriving with the cloud and reshaping industries with AI", and released the AI-native cloud infrastructure CloudMatrix and Huawei Mainframe-to-Cloud solution. He pointed out that enterprises should bravely embrace AI, build knowledge-centric data foundations, and optimize data quality and computing power. "CloudMatrix interconnects and pools resources such as CPUs, NPUs, DPUs, storage, and memory. It evolves from monolithic computing power to matrix computing power and builds an AI-native cloud infrastructure where everything can be pooled, peer-to-peer, and composed, providing customers with robust AI computing power," he stressed.

Zhang Ping'an emphasized that core systems are the key to enterprise digital transformation. Banks and enterprises are gradually moving their core systems to the cloud to cope with the changing market and go intelligent. Huawei's Mainframe-to-Cloud solution aims to help customers build a cloud core with high availability, easy O&M, and agility. This solution detects hardware faults in just seconds, and provides Elastic Load Balance, financial-class distributed middleware, and GaussDB databases for rapid capacity expansion and multi-location DR, thanks to Huawei Cloud's distributed technologies.

In addition, the solution uses intelligent fault demarcation and insensible upgrade technologies to greatly improve the O&M efficiency of the cloud platform.

At HUAWEI CONNECT 2024, customers and partners from Asia Pacific, such as Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia, are also key speakers who shared insightful success stories with Huawei.

In addition, they use Huawei's data warehouse and DataArts to manage data, and use native AI capabilities to explore the potential value of data. According to MFEC, one of Thailand's top 5 banks that successfully migrated their "Customer Reward System" from its AS400-based infrastructure to Huawei Cloud GaussDB database, and used tools to achieve significant resource optimization, scalability, and cost savings. The migration cost was reduced by 35% and the DR capability was improved (RPO = 0, RTO ≤ 60 seconds) with strong data consistency, demonstrating the bank's commitment to using advanced technologies to improve performance, scalability, and efficiency. In addition, by deploying Huawei Cloud's cloud-native database solution, their business is ready for continuous evolution in the future.

On September 20, Huawei Cloud Night was held at the Shanghai World Expo Creative Show with the theme of "Together Spark the Future". It aims to recognize and promote the excellence and innovation of customers and partners around the world in the field of digital transformation.

At the award ceremony, Huawei Cloud presented awards to outstanding customers and partners from multiple industries, including the Carrier Solution Innovation Award, Database Solution Innovation Award, and Partner Win-Win Award, 19 of which were granted to customers and partners of Asia Pacific Cloud.

Thai customers and partners won the Financial Industry Solution Innovation Award, Carrier Solution Innovation Award, Excellent Global Distributor, and Global Dive into Cloud Polaris Awards. For the successful commercial use of AI technology, they won the AI Pioneer Award.
