CEOs told PwC that they are preparing for reinvention to be ready for a new age.

?PwC?reports that Generative AI (GenAI) may soon supplant app and platform economies.

Reinventions may include mergers, spinoffs, and new strategies. Chief executives often rely on the board to help formulate business strategy. The board may need a refresh to meet today’s challenges.

Resilience

While 68%of US CEOs say that in the next three years GenAI will significantly change how their company creates and delivers value, only 38%?of CEOs say their company pursues ambitious goals and risk-taking to seize growth opportunities, prioritizing stability over risk-taking.

Thus, businesses face a dilemma regarding how to proceed with GenAI adoption while minimizing risk. Striking a balance will require resilience planning as they prepare for transformational change.

Moonshot Goals

According to Merriam-Webster, while “Moonshot” originally meant "long shot," it's increasingly used to describe a monumental effort, a loft goal, or a giant leap.

The term Moonshot is derived from the Apollo 11 spaceflight, which landed the first human on the moon in 1969.?

In tech, Moonshot is an innovative project with benefits impacting stakeholders, users, and humanity. That is a lofty goal! ?

My Moonshot Goals for 2025

The February cold in Chicago lends itself to time by the fire to think, learn, and be creative.

This year, I have taken giant leaps forward focusing on my writing passion (thought leadership, ghostwriting, and my first novel), my number one Clifton Strength (learner), and my mission to teach (speaking and sharing what I’ve learned about balancing AI adoption and cybersecurity risks).

Regarding generative AI (GAI), I am experimenting with AI tools and building muscle. No longer a tinkerer, but not yet a black belt user. I’ve progressed from click and wait, to talking to GAI, challenging output with back-and-forth dialogue.

The winning combination involves a mindset shift to dive deeper, the capability to co-create with the tech by revising and customizing smarter questions, and good judgment about responsible AI, and risks.
