AWS Announces Q3 Revenue Growth Fuelled by AI & ML
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has showcased its strongest revenue growth in over a year, credited to increased enterprise interest in generative AI (GenAI) applications.
In its third-quarter earnings call, transcribed by Seeking Alpha, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy revealed that AWS’s year-on-year revenue grew 19.1%, reaching $27.5 billion (£21.22bn), up from $23 billion (£17.75bn) the previous year. The cloud segment’s profit also rose to $10.4 billion (£8.02bn) from $7 billion (£5.4bn) last year, marking a 49.7% profit boost for the quarter and re-establishing AWS’s position as a central driver of Amazon’s overall success.

ISC2: Cybersecurity Workforce Growth Slows Despite AI Catalyst
Despite the growing need for professionals, global cybersecurity workforce growth has slowed for the first time in six years, holding at 5.5 million people.
This contrasts with last year when the workforce grew 8.7% year-on-year despite declining economic conditions.

A new report has revealed that three-quarters (74%) of UK decision makers believe AI will help reverse the trend of lowering productivity levels and lead to the greatest productivity boom in a century.
Beyond productivity benefits, the research found that AI is proving pivotal for career advancement.
Seventy-six percent of UK respondents agree that AI allows them to focus on more high-level strategic work, while 77% say it has helped them acquire new skills they otherwise wouldn’t have learned.
Furthermore, the same number view AI as a key skill for enhancing their careers, highlighting how the technology can both ease daily tasks and foster professional growth.
