AI is killing ALL existing Software Solutions. Here's Why

Software, at its core, is a series of activities executed based on the result of previous steps or other defined and expected inputs. These activities are immutable in the sense that only those predefined in the algorithm can be run. The inputs and outputs are also predetermined. This approach forms the foundation of today’s software systems. While effective for solving specific problems, it has limitations. Traditional software lacks flexibility— It can't react to inputs in different ways or produce different outputs than those defined in the algorithm.

However, AI is dramatically changing this paradigm.

Suddenly, we have technology capable of learning and reacting based on its own conclusions. AI software can now function like a human: it learns from tasks, performs them, and adapts based on the results. As it encounters new, never-before-seen tasks, it can likely solve them as well—and if not, it will learn from them. Traditional software simply can’t do that.

This new approach is embodied by what we call “AI Agents”. These are large language models (LLMs) capable of translating prompts into programmatic actions, allowing them to interact with other systems.

Imagine telling an AI agent to act as a Point of Sale system, managing fiscalization and payments. You could then use the same agent to function as a personal shopping assistant, providing support during customer visits. This shift renders traditional solutions obsolete.

AI is fundamentally altering the IT landscape across industries. If you’re thinking that this will take years to become a reality, think again. The pace of AI development is accelerating faster than ever.

We’re now in a phase where AI learns by doing. Each request made using AI models simultaneously trains the system. This means future growth will be exponential.

If you're still skeptical, take a look at the latest developments with Stripe ’s SDK built for AI agents [1]. You’ll immediately understand the next major shift in retail technology—and how rapidly it’s unfolding. It's already here.
