AI Isn’t Ready To Replace You

Unless you've been hibernating, you know there's a lot of talk around new AI technology. Many people are afraid it's going to replace humans in the communication field.
I'm not a forecaster and I don't have a crystal ball. AI may replace us at a future date, but I'm not worried about it now.
Here's a case in point:
I asked Chat GPT to write an article about the importance of communication brevity.
It created a 386 word article. That's 386 words about…
Brevity.
Using my human brain, I trimmed the article to this 153 word version:
People today are bombarded with information from all directions. Effective and efficient communication is essential in the workplace or your personal life.
In business, time is money. A concise message allows you to move on to other tasks, increasing productivity.
Brevity also ensures clarity. When you communicate concisely, you're more likely to be clear and precise. This reduces the risk of misinterpretation and confusion. These can lead to errors, misunderstandings, and delays. ?
Additionally, brevity shows respect for the person you're communicating with. When you’re concise, you show that you value their time. This builds trust and credibility.
Brevity should not come at the expense of completeness. Messages need to contain all necessary information to make them complete and informative.?
Incomplete messages can lead to misunderstandings or incorrect assumptions. Thus, it is important to strike a balance between brevity and completeness.
Practice communication brevity. You'll improve your effectiveness and productivity, and the quality of your relationships.

With a little more time, I could've shortened it even more. Hopefully, you can see that AI still can’t compete with human creativity imagination.
Fears about AI replacing us are overblown. As a communication and presentation skills trainer, this new technology is a huge asset. Like a doctor who uses an MRI to determine why a patient is sick, I use AI to help me determine how to best help clients.
The best insights I've heard about AI's place in our society comes from Hall of Fame speaker Ford Saeks, who says, "A will not replace people, but it will replace people who don't use AI.â€
If you want to become more efficient with your communication, take advantage of this tool. It's not going to replace you, it's going to free you to focus on what you do best.
