As many have started to see, AIoT is the new hot acronym. But why? IoT enables companies to gather vast amounts of data from the physical world, but processing it creates its challenges. If we look back to last week’s edition of the IoT Pulse, Su Lyn Church explained that data from IoT solutions is only as useful as our ability to process and understand it. So this is where AI comes in.
AI has been used for years by many companies, but given its recent surge in popularity, the amount of understanding and available tools to utilize the power of AI are growing exponentially by the day. In the IoT space, AI is going to be the key to unlocking the true value of the data that IoT solutions are collecting, not only more quickly processing and analyzing data, but also making it useful and more actionable by companies across all industries.
It’s really the perfect marriage. IoT unlocks the ability to collect data from the physical world unlike anything we have seen before, and AI makes sense of that data generated by sensors. Analysts project that AIoT will reach a $91B market value by 2028, so needless to say, the future is very bright for AIoT.
We look forward to seeing how AI and IoT continue to work together to power solutions to improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and help with the bottom line.
