Elon Musk Redirects AI Chips from Tesla to X and xAI

Elon Musk has requested Nvidia to divert thousands of AI chips originally intended for Tesla to his social media platform X and AI startup xAI.

This has delayed Tesla's receipt of over $500 million in processors by several months. The redirection was due to a logistical issue at Tesla's still-under-construction factory in Austin, Texas.

Musk stated that Tesla had no place to store and activate the processors until the south extension of the Giga Texas facility, which will house 50,000 H100 GPUs for Full Self Driving (FSD) training, is complete.

Nvidia Hits Historic $3 Trillion Market Cap Amid AI Surge

On June 5th, 2024, 英伟达 briefly surpassed a $3 trillion market cap, driven by high demand for its AI chips. The stock has soared over 3,224% in five years, prompting a 10-1 stock split announcement to broaden investor access.
