AI-Inbox

Hey folks! Welcome back to the latest edition of the AI-Inbox Newsletter. Here are some bits I have been spending time learning about over the past week.

TL;DR:

  • ?? Wordpress Domination: A look back on Wordpress's huge impact, powering 43% of websites globally.
  • ????LindoAI: My trial with this innovative website creation tool and its potential to get ideas online super quick.
  • ??? Typeset: A brief look at this AI powered presentation-making tool.
  • ?? Rabbit R1 Update: Surpassing shipping expectations, hitting over 50,000 units.
  • ?? AI Tools in My Week: How I integrated AI in project planning, product research, creating personalized kids' stories, workshop planning, and crafting this newsletter.
  • ???? Listening & Reading Corner: Insights from Tim Ferris's podcast with Noah Kagan, and discovering LindoAI.
  • ?? ?New Follows: Key influencers and experts in AI and tech that I've started following.

?? Wordpress: A Revolution in Web Development

Wordpress is in my eyes, still one of the best and most significant products shipped in my lifetime. Co-founded by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little , it's unreal to think that approximately 810 million websites globally are powered by Wordpress . That’s roughly 43% market share which is absolutely crazy. This platform transformed web development from an exclusive skill known by a relatively small pool of software developers, to something accessible for everyone who had the time (and a little patience) to research and start a website, including non-technical folks like me.

Fast forward to today, and Wordpress is still going strong, but there are new startups now chomping at their heels. One of these which I've been playing around with is LindoAI. ?All I needed to do was sign up for a free account, which includes a free trial domain, and described what type of website I wanted, and their AI tool created a fully functional site, including sample content for each page instantly. It's still a bit rough around the edges, particularly in customisation and it’s user experience, but I am sure these will be ironed out soon.

For anyone looking to bring their ideas online quickly, LindoAI could be a great start. And, as always, I'm here to help if you need it. ??

??? TypeSet

In a similar technology, but different vertical, my boss told me to check out Typeset . I had a quick nosey, and it could be a really helpful tool for those folks who spend a bunch of time creating and crafting engaging presentations. I haven't had the opportunity to fully explore it yet, but I'll definitely share more insights once I've had the chance to use it more extensively.

???? Multi-On AI Agent

One area of AI I am really excited about are AI Agents, a technology designed and trained to handle micro-tasks, enhancing productivity and saving time on repetitive and boring jobs. In a recent episode of This Week in Startups ; Sunny Madra and Jason Calacanis demo’d MultiOn 's capabilities.

Imagine the time saved by just saying, “Create a meeting with Jim Jones and Jane Bloggs when we're all free,” and having the AI agent arrange it for you. These AI Agents very soon will be able to streamline tasks like online shopping, travel bookings, and bill payments as well. You can find out more about MultiOn here.

?? Rabbit R1 Update

I covered Rabbit R1 in my last newsletter outlining why I thought they nailed their launch. CEO Jesse Lyu originally tweeted that when they were planning the launch a really great result for them was going to be 500 R1s shipped. According to his latest count they have more than 50,000 shipped ??. It will be really cool to see the early feedback from users, and where they go next. Check it out here.

?? ?AI Tools in My Week

Below are five practical scenarios from my week where I've integrated AI into my workflow, along with the specific AI tools that I used:

1. Scenario: Project Planning

Description: Assisted me in evaluating the challenges and key questions our product team should consider for a new project we are about to work on. (Very excited about what we are building at SoSafe - watch this space ??) Specifically this involved considering the differences between developing a product for scale versus building quickly to learn from customer feedback.

Tool: ChatGPT + Perplexity

2. Scenario: Product Research (Water Filters - Yes, Water Filters)

Description: This might seem random, but Chamath Palihapitiya recently shared a research report outlining that the average 1L plastic bottle of water contains 240,000 pieces of nanoplastics which can be harmful for us. It has put a little bit of fear in me, so I used GPT to see what water filter options were available on the market.

Tool: ChatGPT

3. Scenario: Personalised Kids Stories

Description: I mentioned last week about my son’s love of tractors and how we were creating his very own tractors using GenerativeAI. I have been playing around with creating my own personalised short stories for him, so I was using AI to create consistent animated characters.

Tool: MidJourney + Scenario + Canva

4. Scenario: Pre-Workshop Planning

Description: Reviewed and critically evaluated my workshop plan that I was faciliating with my PM colleagues. Specifically challenging my approach to make sure it was inclusive, predicting questions I might get, and outlining areas that need more clarity.

Tool: ChatGPT

5. Scenario: Creating this Newsletter

Description: Used AI to help me structure the content, create images and make sure it is easy to understand and engaging.

Listening & Reading Corner ????

  • ?? No specific AI books or Podcasts listened to in the last week or so. However, I am a long time listener of Tim Ferriss podcast and tuned in to his chat with Noah Kagan and found it super useful. Specifically the insights that Noah shared regarding quickly validating new product ideas. Check it out here. I also just bought Noah's book, and love it's direct and tactical approach, highly recommend for anyone launching a new product or business.(Fun fact - I actually found LindoAI mentioned above because it is being featured by Noah’s business AppSumo.) ?? Who I followed this week:All of the below people are collaborating and/or building really exciting products in the AI space, and highly recommend a follow :)
  • Emmanuel de Maistre Co-founder & CEO at Scenario.
  • Hervé Nivo: Hervé N. : CTO & Co-founder of?Scenario.
  • Robert Scoble launched a new podcast with AI startups, Unaligned.
  • Justin Fineberg helps companies adopt AI via?@cassidy_ai
  • Daphne Koller Founder and CEO of insitro , Machine Learning expert, co-founder of Coursera, adjunct CS Professor at Stanford.
  • Fran?ois Chollet Author of 'Deep Learning with Python'. That’s all for this week, thanks a million, Tommy
