AI Will Impact Every Area Of Digital Marketing

Artificial intelligence is not just something we should be using to make our lives easier. It is increasingly becoming a necessary part of our everyday marketing efforts. Most smart companies will not even hire a marketer who is not using AI in some way shape or form.

Generative AI and SEO

One of the most significant impacts of AI on marketing is in the realm of search engine optimisation (SEO). With the advent of Search Generative Experience (SGE), traditional SEO strategies are evolving. Generative AI tools can assist you with creating content, generate meta descriptions, help you to create structured data, and even suggest keywords, making the SEO process more efficient and data-driven.

However, there's a catch. Websites have already started to see a decrease in organic search traffic as AI systems provide users with direct answers to their queries without requiring them to visit multiple sites.

Google can also easily detect low quality AI written content produced at scale. They call it 'scaled content abuse' and this can impact how well your website ranks in Google going forward if you are not careful.

AI-First Websites and Chatbots

As AI technology advances, the expectations of website visitors are also likely to change. Users will eventually start to anticipate more personalised and efficient interactions with your website, which AI can deliver through AI-friendly websites and chatbots.

  • AI Chatbots: Implementing AI-driven chatbots can provide instant customer support, answer frequently asked questions, and guide users through their purchasing journey, improving customer satisfaction, sales and engagement.
  • Personalised User Experience: AI can analyse user behaviour and preferences to offer a more tailored website experience, from personalised recommendations to dynamic content that adjusts based on user interactions.
  • Voice Search Optimisation: As voice-activated AI assistants become more prevalent, optimising your website for voice search is going to become crucial. This involves focusing on natural language keywords and ensuring your content is conversational.

AI in Email Marketing Segmentation

Email marketing remains a powerful tool for businesses, and AI is enhancing its effectiveness by enabling more precise segmentation and personalisation.

  • Data Analysis: AI can quickly analyse vast amounts of data to identify patterns and segment your audience based on behaviour, preferences, and demographics. This allows for highly targeted email campaigns that resonate with specific segments of your audience.
  • Predictive Analytics: Leveraging AI to predict customer behaviour can help in crafting emails that anticipate user needs, increasing open rates and conversions.

  • Smart Bidding: AI-powered bidding strategies can automatically adjust bids in real-time to maximise conversions and ROI. These systems learn from each interaction, continually refining their approach.
  • Audience Targeting: AI tools, such as the Meta Pixel, allow for sophisticated audience segmentation and targeting. By analysing user data, these tools can identify potential customers and deliver personalised ads that are more likely to convert.
  • Ad Creative Optimisation: AI can test and optimise ad creatives to determine which combinations of visuals, copy, and calls-to-action perform best, ensuring that your ads are as effective as possible.
