Ai a Hype, an excitement or tug of wars

Initially, I hesitated to pen down articles after GTP's release, fearing it might spark rumors about whether they were self-written or generated by AI. Yet, after interacting with AI-powered generative applications such as GPT and Gemini, claude etc., I've observed that the writing styles of both AI and humans are distinct. The tones used by AI, to date, can be differentiated.
Another significant element is the thinking process. People tend to have individual thoughts, while AI systems rely on different patterns and knowledge bases, resulting in AI writing becoming less spontaneous and more focused.
Moreover, after having some fruitful discussion with some of the Ai enthusiast in the #7th Middle East Enterprise Ai & Aanalytics Summit held in Riyadh KSA, finally concluded to start sharing my experiences again.
The topic I have picked this time is “Ai a Hype, an excitement or tug of wars”
The most widespread misconception or you can say a fear factor that non-technical people have regrading Ai, is that it will replace their jobs by performing the same tasks they are currently doing.
It is expected that the job market will undergo major changes because of this, but when this will happen, for now the timing is uncertain. While tech giants are investing in Ai heavily, the question when this transformation will occur worth a billion, considering their last year 2023 spending on Ai development which has reach a staggering figure of 154 billion USD.
For a moment let’s focus on the tech giants who are injecting billions in their Ai race.
Has there been any development of Ai that has decreased the workload or made significant resource optimizations in any area? Not talking about RPA’s. (Robotic Process Automations)
Are there obstacles in reaching the objectives or the perspectives are different at the user and development level ?
At the beginning of the year 2023 we have seen a breakthrough in Ai by the introduction of generative Ai by chat GPT whereas same year it has also experienced a significant dip in its monthly user traffic. After the earlier collaboration of Microsoft with GTP a pressure started to mount on all tech companies to showcase their Ai capabilities. As result we have also witnessed an event of launching Google Gemini in a hustle which had backfired google on a large scale.
Ai advancements are diversified into many fields. Every Ai model is unique and centered around a particular category. In addition, Ai is predominantly dependent on big data but it may experience a slow down due to the raising concerns related to data privacy and introduction of new regulations.
In general, the Ai models are being trained using a specific set of data associated with a particular industry. Like in health sector they can be valuable addressing health related issues such as imaging and diagnosing, personalized medications, predictions etc. In Retail sector Ai can be beneficial for supply chain, inventory management or customer insights etc . Nevertheless, the Ai used in retail may not be applicable in health sector and vice versa.
Looking on to a broader spectrum, there is no collaborative model yet available to provide support in multiple domains. Perhaps in the future, we might witness a new approach towards multi-disciplinary AI as a collaborative effort involving multiple companies.
So where we are standing today with the Ai advancements for our day to day operations.

The requirement for AI's processing power is one of the various factors contributing to its relatively high cost, which is also restricting the adoption of Ai to big businesses alone.
Notably to sustain on a long run they need a steady revenue stream but for now thanks to angel investors and venture capitals who ready to a risk for a potential business opportunity and in return the startups are getting the back to keep moving forward.
Why hasn't AI been used to handle everyday tasks, aside from generative ai?
In general, it lacks the primary characteristic of human to Act. Ai is currently focused on analysis, forecasts, and recommendations. It is indeed providing a significant advantage in analyzing the big data and doing the research works and such activities are already beyond the capabilities of humans.
Numerous studies are still in progress, and we hear about some exciting news and updates every day. Although I had anticipated that Microsoft would integrate ChatGPT into its products when it first announced its partnership with GPT and then through Copolit, they have gained an advantage in this regard. However, not many innovations have been made thus far that can be practical and helpful for day-to-day user activities
In near future, before Ai becomes a viable substitute for workers in workplace, in the fields or in households, after addressing the above challenges. There are good chances that stringent regulations are likely to be implemented considering the economic factors associated with taxes, social securities and other subsides Vs tax collections.
I believe a framework soon be developed which will eventually draw a line to balance the horizons and be beneficial for both parties, individuals and businesses.
Bytheway, I have asked one of the Ai to forecast the anticipated Ai impact on labor market in next 2 years and here are the results.

1 个月Generative AI is very expensive on purpose, acting as a moat around those investments and handing them automatic leadership status. Yet it is the same moat keeping away high levels of "practical" engagement, though bankrupt "hype" is all over the place.

1 个月Not only that, but, as with other tech revolutions that have disrupted the workforce, the development of new jobs as a result of A.I. advances may help offset the losses.

1 个月Most jobs and industries are only partially susceptible to automation, therefore A.I. is more likely to complement rather than substitute them.
