AI for Humans: Opportunities and Challenges Ahead

Today's Hot buzzword is ChatGTP,?BARD,?Bing AI... etc. Everyone must have?heard it in different conversations in companies, articles on different platforms about AI. Everyone is curious, what's coming to us, it's going to impact?us or make our life easy. Lot of questions in everyone's mind. I wanted to write my views about my learnings?so far on AI course from ISB-HYD & others case studies.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionised the way we live and work. From chatbots that help us with customer service, to intelligent assistants that schedule our appointments, AI has become an integral part of our daily lives.?

AI was always there for a long time but at very basic?experiments level, it really became a baby in the last year (2022) - a reality ...now it's growing very?fast. Now AI can learn from existing huge data & grow itself smarter and faster everyday. Its like human brain more you use it more smarter & efficient it will be.

Every 6 month to year AI age grows multi-folds now. It become smarter, more efficient?& stronger everyday.

Currently it's in different smart pieces, Imagine if it all gets stitched for different industries & use cases then It will make a real disruption. Its coming fast...

Let's take an example to understand, how it impacts in layman terms:

You can imagine a?good model photograph?for women's attire advertisements needs huge effort in terms of time & money.

You need to hire

• Photographer
• Model
• Studio
• Hair stylist & makeup artist
• Photo Editor

One very good professional photo shot may cost you?around 50K - 200K?depends on budget.

Now with the help of AI tools it will generate your required new face model which could be a mix of multiple models as per need with attire of your choice with required location & make up details with high definition pictures with very low cost.?It takes a few minutes to get this picture or multiple poses pics which otherwise take huge money & lot of efforts?without AI.

Hence every business will start using it as it saves money & time from them. This is called?disruptive?Innovation.

Similarly it's going to impact so many industries as shown in below image.

Disruptive Innovation always makes humans un-comfortable, you must have heard in 1984-1988 when banks were going for computerisation. Every employee was worried they would lose their jobs. It might have impacted few but people who adapted & learnt they grew even faster.

Today if we see, in last 20 years number of banks & opportunities?has grown multi-fold, beyond imagination that time. Hence any innovative disruption has both sides.??

Opportunities:

AI has tremendous potential to positively impact our lives. It can help us solve complex problems, increase our productivity, and improve our quality of life. Here are some examples of how AI is already benefiting us:

1. Healthcare: AI-enabled diagnostic tools can help doctors detect diseases earlier and with greater accuracy, leading to better health outcomes for patients.
2. Education: Adaptive learning systems based on AI algorithms can personalize learning and teaching methods to suit each student's needs, abilities, and learning style.
3. Business: AI-powered customer experience platforms can enhance the customer journey through proactive problem resolution and personalized marketing.

Challenges:

As AI continues to advance, it also presents significant challenges, such as ethical considerations, biases, and privacy concerns. Here are some examples of the challenges we currently face:

1. Ethical considerations: With AI becoming more ubiquitous, we must consider the ethical implications of deploying AI, including how to ensure that AI systems operate within ethical boundaries.
2. Bias: AI models can be influenced by the biases of those who create them. We must ensure that AI systems are designed and trained in a way that is objective, unbiased, and fair.
3. Privacy concerns: As AI algorithms become more sophisticated, they require more data to operate effectively, leading to potential privacy violations.

Summary:

AI presents both opportunities and challenges as we move forward into the future. As a community, we must work together to ensure that we use AI for the betterment of humanity while carefully considering the potential risks and challenges. By doing so, we can unlock the full potential of AI and create a more prosperous and equitable future for all.

Let's embrace the opportunities and work to mitigate the challenges ahead.
