Do you believe that people prefer buying from people?
In our fast-moving world of new technology and the rapid development of AI, it is easy to start relying on robots to do things for us, like creating content or messages for our social media.
However, there is a clear distinction between content generated by AI, rather than taking the time to create your content yourself, and this distinction seems most evident to me in the context of social media marketing.
For example, I find it frustrating reading the same AI generated response in comments on some of my posts, which seem the same each time. This highlights the lack of uniqueness and personal touch that AI often brings to content and can distance the reader.
The differences between speaking to a robot rather than a person are:
?? The human touch - A person can provide a unique voice and personal touch to the content, making it more engaging and relatable.
?? Authenticity - Human-generated content often comes across as more genuine and sincere, which can build trust and rapport with an audience.
?? Empathy - Humans can understand and convey emotions effectively, creating posts that resonate emotionally with readers.
?? Engagement - Emotionally engaging content is more likely to be shared, liked, and commented on, increasing its reach and impact.
???? Context Understanding - Humans can grasp the subtleties and context of a situation better than robots, or so I believe, so tailor the message appropriately.
???? Nuanced Communication - A person can use nuanced language, inject humour, and cultural references that might be lost on a robot.
???? Creativity - The creativity of humans enables them to come up with original ideas that a robot might not generate.
???? Adaptability - A person can adapt the content based on the latest trends, feedback, and specific audience needs, whereas a robot might produce more generic responses.
???? Critical Thinking - People can provide deeper insights, professional opinions, and experiences that add value to the audience.
???? Engagement - Humans can quickly adjust the tone, style, and content based on audience feedback and real-time interactions.
???? Personal Brand - For LinkedIn, a professional platform, the personal brand and professional reputation of the individual writing the post can add credibility, authority and authenticity.

???? Professional Insight - Posts written by industry professionals add value because of their reputation and expertise.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a Luddite. I can see the advantages of using AI at times.
Here's how AI can be useful in social media:
?? Efficiency - AI can quickly generate and schedule posts, freeing up time for more strategic tasks.
?? Data Analysis - AI can analyse vast amounts of data to identify trends, track engagement, and measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
?? Personalization - AI can help personalise content for different audience segments based on their behaviour and preferences.
?? Consistency - AI ensures that content is posted consistently, maintaining an active presence on social media platforms.
?? Customer Service - AI-powered chatbots can handle basic customer inquiries, providing quick responses and freeing up human resources for more complex issues.
?? Performance Optimisation - AI tools can optimise content for better performance by analysing past posts and suggesting the best times to post and the most effective hashtags to use.
I think that while robots and AI can assist in generating content, the human element remains crucial for creating LinkedIn posts that are authentic, engaging, and contextually relevant.
It takes our human touch to foster deeper connections and enhances the overall effectiveness of the communication, don't you think?
As AI develops, the distinction may be less obvious. Only time will tell.
Don't just rely on AI for your content. Take time to infuse your own tone or create your own post, comments and interactions.
