AI: Holds More Information & Knowledge Than Any Human
Imagine having more computational power at YOUR fingertips, right now, than most humans ever dreamed of. Well, YOU do!
So says Ray Kurzweil - Principal Researcher & AI Visionary at Google - in Peter Diamandis' latest video post (02/02/2024) - Ray Kurzweil Q&A - The Singularity, Human-Machine Integration & AI | EP #83 .

Kurzweil: "I've been following Large Language Models (LLMs) for almost three years.. the results are amazingly impressive. In my opinion, this is not just another category of AI. To me, it's as significant as the advent of written language which started with Cuneiform 5,000 years ago."
"The intelligence that we're creating is adding AI to our own brains.. 2045 is when I said we will actually multiply our intelligence millionsfold.. and that's going to be true of everybody."
Kurzweil demonstrates the incredible exponential (log scale chart) increase in power of information technology using computations per second per constant dollar over 80 years "..from 0.07 calculations per second per dollar to now 50 billion calculations per second per dollar. So you're getting a lot more for the same amount of money and it's only in the last three years that Large Language Models (LLMs) have been feasible. The intelligence that we're creating is adding AI to our own brains just the way our phones and computers do already.":
It is to be expected that we will soon have trillions of calculations per second per dollar of computational power at our fingertips.
Listening to Kurzweil, it seems to this layman that AI may well prove to be the greatest ideas-generating machine ever.
He continues: "We're ultimately going to use biological simulation of humans to replace human testing. Rather than spending a year or several years testing the results on a few hundred subjects, none of which probably match, we will test it on a million or more simulated humans in just a few days."
"So to cure cancer, for example, we will simply feed in every possible method that can detect cancer cells from normal cells and destroy them or do anything that would help us. We won't evaluate them.. we'll just feed in all the ideas we have about each of these possibilities into the computer. The computer will evaluate all of the many billions of sequences and provide the results. We'll then test the final product with simulated humans.. also very quickly."
"We'll do this for every major health predicament. It will be done a thousand times faster than conventional methods and, based on our ability to do this, we should be able to come overcome most significant health problems by 2029."

Read the essence of the above 3 paragraphs again, with your specialist or general field of interest in mind. Don't just think Health. Think ANYTHING.. from innovation to product development, to any random idea you might have.

Clearly, I concur with the cutting-edge themes expressed by Ray Kurzweil & Peter Diamandis regarding their impressive work and collaborations in the fields of Exponential Technologies, Abundance Mindset and AI. Both predict more rapid change in the coming few years than we have ever experienced.
Comments Kurzweil: "..we're going to have computers help us get through the day. Large Language Models (LLMs) actually incorporates all of the learning of humans. I've asked these machines questions which no human could answer."
"I'm still amazed by it. You can put something into the computer and you get something that's totally surprising and totally delightful that didn't exist a year or two ago. It surprises me.. and we're going to see that more and more. Every six months it's going to be a whole new world!"?
Both Kurzweil & Diamandis talk of AI becoming an essential personal assistant or co-pilot in everybody's lives.

Next, for me, like Kurzweil (who talked in the video above of reviewing his long-deceased father's writings and 'asking' him questions on his views via AI) , I am busy reviewing all information that I have produced over the last 50 years (yes, I have kept most of it) and am putting it through a few different AI filters for upgrading into current times and experimenting with different writers / writing styles. Already a very interesting, surprising and informative AI exercise. Watch this space!
