After teaching himself SAS, he landed an analyst role with a major retail bank.
His career took him through various phases, including significant roles at EXL and UnitedHealth Group (UHG). At UHG, he notably expanded his team from 10 to over 2,000 members, a feat that highlighted his expertise in process management and scaling operations. Anupam underscored the essence of analytics not just in model creation but in generating tangible business outcomes. He stated, “It doesn’t matter what advanced technology you use—be it AI, blockchain, or LLMs—if it doesn’t create business impact, it’s not valuable.”
AI and Healthcare
Anupam shared his belief that the next few years would see an increase in specialized models tailored to specific sectors like healthcare. He argued that while large, general-purpose models are useful, the future will favor niche models that can rival human expertise in their respective fields.
