AI in healthcare to add US$ 30 billion to India’s GDP
AI in healthcare is expected to add US$ 25-30 billion to India’s GDP by 2025, improving accessibility, diagnostics, and treatment, as per a recent Deloitte report. Government initiatives like the India AI Mission and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, support responsible AI adoption and data security. AI adoption in healthcare (40%) surpasses sectors like FMCG and manufacturing but faces challenges like data security, regulatory fragmentation, and rural infrastructure gaps. The report noted that while India exports surgical consumables, it relies on imports for high-tech equipments. Investments in AI training, infrastructure, and policy reforms can enhance adoption, positioning India as a global AI healthcare leader.

The supply of office space in top cities rose by 7% year-over-year to 515 lakh square feet, with Hyderabad and Bengaluru leading in new supply. With improved absorption, vacancy rates slightly decreased in 2024. IT-ITeS sector dominated leasing activities, while sustainability and green-certified office spaces saw increased demand.
Augmont bets ?100 cr on Akoirah’s lab-grown diamonds
Augmont is investing Rs 100 crore to launch its lab-grown diamond jewellery brand, Akoirah, with plans to open 100 stores in three years. The jewellery will feature recycled gold and responsibly sourced LGDs, aligning with the growing Indian LGD market, projected to reach US$ 1.2 billion by 2033.

Maersk to invest US$ 5 billion in India’s logistics expansion
Maersk plans a US$ 5 billion investment in India’s ports, terminals, and logistics, focusing on Pipavav expansion, Vadhavan Port, and warehousing. Half of the funds will go to Pipavav and logistics, while Vadhavan depends on bidding. The company aims to streamline supply chains and explore air freighters and green fuel.
Next-Gen Travel: Delhi to Jaipur in half an hour with hyperloop
IIT Madras, with the support of the Ministry of Railways, has developed the country’s first hyperloop test track. The 422-meter-long facility is designed to facilitate the movement of trains through a near-vacuum tube at speeds exceeding 1,000 km/h, bringing India closer to achieving ultra-fast travel solutions. Initial tests on the hyperloop track have showcased its potential, with a distance of approximately 350 km being covered in just 30 minutes.
