AI Hacks For Recruiters
The first in my #AIHacks series is for #recruiters.
Recruiting can be a highly rewarding career, but it’s also filled with repetitive, labour-intensive tasks that can drain your time and energy.
When well directed, AI can be super-helpful to remove the boring bits of your job.
Here are some practical ways to leverage AI to boost your productivity and remove the energy sapping parts of your day.
1. Candidate Sourcing
Generative AI alone can't help much here. Continue to use your LinkedIn tools. However, you can gain candidate sourcing superpowers when combining LinkedIn, Gen AI and Zapier. DM me for that tip.
2. Reviewing, scoring and summarising CV's
You may already use an ATS for this, but AI will allow you to get hyper-personalised and specific.
The Hack : For the role you are sourcing, create a custom GPT and upload the job description and information about your client. As you receive CV's, upload them into this custom GPT to score and summarise. You can also use this custom GPT to provide content when corresponding with your client.
Depending on your IT skills creating a custom GPT might feel onerous - but it's actually pretty simple. Here's how:
Step 1: Configure Your Custom GPT
Note you'll need to subscribe to ChatGPT to do this - it's £20-ish per month.
Congratulations - you now have your own personal AI sidekick that knows all about the role and company, and can now start reviewing those CV's for you.
Step 2: Automate CV Scoring
As CV's come in, upload them to your custom GPT. The GPT will automatically score each resume based on how well it matches the job description. You can set it up to provide a score out of 10 and a brief summary explaining the score:
"Evaluate this resume based on the provided job description. Give a score out of 10 and provide a summary highlighting key strengths and weaknesses relevant to the role."
Step 3: Generate Summarised Reports for Clients
Once the GPT has scored and summarised a bunch of CV's, compile these summaries into a single document for your client. The GPT can help format this document to ensure it’s professional and easy to digest:
"Compile the candidate summaries into a single document for client presentation. Include each candidate’s score, a brief summary, and organise it neatly with headings for each candidate."
