AI: Is it a Force for Good?
The impact of AI on society is a hugely debated topic. On the one hand, AI has already implemented advancements and helped revolutionise industries, healthcare, and communication. However, concerns still loom over ethical dilemmas, such as privacy issues, discrimination and the fear of job displacement, making it such a hot topic at the moment.?
AI has been a subject of interest since the 1980s, but it wasn’t until recently, with the launch of ChatGPT and generative AI, that the technology was widely adopted and discussed. In May 2023, Gartner has already reported that 45% of executives said ChatGPT had prompted an AI investment increase and that 70% of organisations were exploring the adoption of generative AI.?
But with the technology’s increased adoption, there have been more and more concerns over its development and deployment, with many fearing serious ethical issues.?
