The AI Factor: How It May Affect Your LinkedIn Post Engagements
If you've been experiencing low engagement on your LinkedIn posts lately, don't beat yourself up just yet. It's not you, it's the algorithms.?
But before we go ahead, let me put the?disclaimer?in. The LinkedIn algorithm is often referred to as a "black box" because it's challenging to understand exactly how the algorithm works and what you need to do to improve your engagement. The exact workings of the LinkedIn algorithm are not published regularly. In fact, LinkedIn keeps the details of its algorithm a closely guarded secret to prevent users from exploiting it. The company periodically updates the algorithm to improve the user experience, but it does not publicly release details on these updates.
How, back to the problem at hand. Based on a few observations of late working on LinkedIn, this is my assessment.??Yes, LinkedIn has changed its algorithms and as a result, your posts may be suffering. But don't worry, it's not too late to turn things around. Here are a few things I have been following which may help you too.
First, let's dive into the top five reasons why your LinkedIn posts may not be getting the engagement they deserve.
While it may seem like a good idea to share articles and resources from other sites, LinkedIn's algorithm may not be a fan. The algorithm prioritizes content that is native to the platform, meaning posts that are created directly on LinkedIn. So, if you want to maximize engagement, it's best to stick to original content.
2. Openly asking for likes and follows:
?While it's always great to receive a like or a follow, openly asking for it can come across as desperate and, quite frankly, annoying. LinkedIn's algorithm is all about authenticity and genuine engagement, so be strategic in how you ask for likes and follows. Instead of making a direct request, try offering valuable content that will naturally attract engagement.

3. Posting material that is already on the chatter:
?LinkedIn is a busy platform and it's easy for content to get lost in the shuffle. To stand out, it's important to offer a unique perspective or insight that are different. If your posts are simply regurgitated content that's already on the platform, it's unlikely to receive much engagement.
4. Not offering love and support to the community:
?LinkedIn is a community, and like any community, it's important to offer love and support to those around you. By liking and commenting on other people's posts, you show that you're an active member of the community and more likely to receive engagement in return.
5. Not offering a unique perspective or insight
LinkedIn is all about offering value, and the best way to do this is by offering a unique perspective or insight into your world. Whether it's sharing your expertise, offering tips and tricks, or sharing a personal story, offering something unique and valuable is the key to maximizing engagement on the platform.
In conclusion, the algorithms on LinkedIn are there to ensure that users receive the most valuable content possible. By following these tips, you can maximize your engagement and get the most out of your LinkedIn presence. Happy posting!

2 年Thanks for sharing Tina Chopra ! I agree with all points especially point 5. The one question I ask myself before I post is ' what is the value this post would offer to my readers? It could be inspirational or informational or even motivational if it is indeed a unique perspective.
